About the Role

The Contracts Manager is responsible for leading the full lifecycle of government and commercial contracts, supporting the company’s growth from capture and proposal through contract execution and closeout.

This role will negotiate, administer, and manage prime contracts, subcontracts, teaming agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and other commercial agreements while ensuring compliance with applicable FAR, DFARS, and company policies.

Partnering closely with Business Development, Program Management, Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Legal, the Contracts Manager will identify and mitigate contractual risk, support proposal development, negotiate terms and conditions, and provide guidance on contractual obligations throughout program execution.

The ideal candidate is an experienced government contracts professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth defense technology environment. They are comfortable balancing risk with business objectives, developing scalable contracting processes, and supporting both strategic pursuits and active programs.

Success in this role requires strong negotiation skills, sound business judgment, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across technical and business teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the full contract lifecycle from proposal support through award, execution, modification, and closeout.

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and administer government and commercial contracts, subcontracts, teaming agreements, NDAs, and other contractual documents.

  • Interpret and ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, and customer-specific contractual requirements.

  • Partner with Business Development and Capture teams to review solicitations, identify contractual risks, and support proposal submissions.

  • Advise Program Managers and functional leaders on contractual obligations, deliverables, changes, and compliance requirements.

  • Coordinate with Legal, Finance, Supply Chain, and Engineering to resolve contractual issues and negotiate favorable business terms.

  • Maintain contract records, reporting, and internal controls to support audits and regulatory compliance.

  • Develop and improve scalable contract management processes to support company growth.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Public Administration, Law, or a related field.

  • 7+ years of experience managing government contracts within the defense, aerospace, or federal technology sectors.

  • Strong working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and common U.S. Government contract types, including FFP, CPFF, T&M, and IDIQ contracts.

  • Experience supporting proposal development, contract negotiations, and program execution.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Experience with OTAs, SBIR/STTR programs, export controls, including ITAR/EAR, and DCAA-compliant environments is preferred.

  • NCMA certification, such as CPCM, CFCM, or CCCM, is a plus.
