Contract Mobile App Developer – React Native
We’re looking for an experienced contract Mobile App Developer to take over an existing mobile application that is approximately 50% complete. The app is an invitation design and creation platform similar to Paperless Post.
The developer will take over the existing codebase from the current developer, complete the remaining development, and ultimately launch the application on both iOS and Android. The current developer will provide a handoff, but the new developer should be comfortable independently reviewing the existing codebase and figuring out how everything is structured.
The developer will be the sole developer responsible for the application and will work independently without additional developers or designers.
Responsibilities:
- Take over and understand an existing mobile app and codebase
- Complete the remaining development needed to bring the app to launch
- Develop and maintain the application for both iOS and Android
- Work with existing APIs, cloud infrastructure, and third-party integrations
- Troubleshoot and resolve bugs and technical issues
- Independently manage the technical development of the application
- Provide ongoing maintenance, updates, bug fixes, and future feature development after launch

Ideal Candidate:
- Strong experience with React and React Native
- Experience developing and launching applications on both iOS and Android
- Full-stack development experience
- Comfortable taking over an existing codebase and independently figuring out unfamiliar code
- Experience working with APIs and cloud-based infrastructure
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience taking an app from development through launch
- Comfortable providing ongoing post-launch maintenance and support
Compensation: Open to discussion. We are flexible on the structure and are open to an hourly rate or monthly contract arrangement depending on the developer's experience and proposed approach.
