(Contract) MIPS Coding Specialist

The (Contract) MIPS Coding Specialist will assist pMD’s MIPS Qualified Registry team by completing the annual chart review audit for pMD customers.

Assist in the MIPS audit process by:

  • review a minimum of 150 patient chart review and comparing to MIPS quality measure specifications; and 90%+ accuracy based on spot checks within the first 30 days
  • complete additional 150+patient chart review and comparing to MIPS quality measure specifications; and 95%+ accuracy based on spot checks as they are assigned
  • determine whether the provider met or did not meet the requirements of the quality measure
  • document charts reviewed and the result of each
  • communicate findings on a biweekly basis to the manager

Requirements include:

  • experience with the MIPS Quality program or other structured healthcare quality data capture programs
  • at least 1 year of experience as a Certified Medical Coder
  • have an active CRC (Certified Risk Adjustment Coder) or CPC (Certified Professional Coder) credential 
  • highly proficient in learning new software applications
  • exceptional attention to detail
  • reside in the U.S.

The compensation model for this role is designed to pay on a per-unit of completed work basis. Payment is $2.14 per patient chart reviewed. Our specialists typically review and complete an average of 100 encounters per hour, but the choice is yours!

There are no minimum requirements for working hours or hours per day for this position. Work is available on a first come, first serve basis, and you have complete flexibility on how many encounters you want to review based on your free time and to meet your compensation goals.
