Summary

We are seeking a skilled Contract Developer to support ongoing development needs for an enterprise client’s digital ecosystem. This role will operate on a month-to-month retainer (estimated 60 hours of dev work per month), focused on maintaining, enhancing, and optimizing our Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) environment as well as building and supporting Shopify-based experiences and integrations.

The ideal candidate has strong experience working within both Adobe Experience Manager and Shopify, and can balance structured enterprise workflows with modern D2C ecommerce development. You should be a reliable, proactive problem-solver with excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with internal teams and be comfortable being client facing if needed.

  • Develop and maintain AEM components, templates, workflows, and integrations.
  • Support Shopify development including theme updates, custom sections, app integrations, and site optimization.
  • Troubleshoot platform issues across AEM and Shopify environments.
  • Collaborate with strategy, UX, and QA teams to implement updates efficiently.
  • Ensure clean, scalable code and follow best practices across both platforms.
  • Provide recommendations for performance, UX, and architectural improvements.
  • Participate in standups or project check-ins during EST working hours.

Requirements
  • 2-3 years of hands-on Adobe Experience Manager development experience
  • Strong proficiency in Java, HTL, Sling Models, OSGi, and AEM component development.
  • 2+ years of Shopify development experience (Shopify Liquid,theme customization).
  • Familiarity with Shopify APIs, app ecosystem, and custom app development a plus.
  • Comfortable working across front-end and back-end codebases.
  • Strong understanding of ecommerce best practices.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage tasks independently and meet weekly deadlines.
  • Availability during EST business hours.

Benefits

Pay starts at $35 USD per hour
Up to 20 hours weekly/ 6 months with the possibly of extension
Role to begin Early Q1 2026

The selection process includes a video interview screening, followed by role-specific discussions and a final leadership conversation.
