At Clario, part of Thermo Fisher Scientific, we develop regulated technology that helps unlock better evidence and improve patient outcomes worldwide. Our software platforms support clinical trials, diagnostics, and medical decision-making in highly controlled regulatory environments.

As a Contract Associate within our Contracts department, you will play a hands-on role in drafting, reviewing, and supporting the negotiation of commercial agreements that enable our teams to serve clients effectively. You will manage a variety of contracting activities, working closely with Sales, subject matter experts, and colleagues across our global organization while balancing accuracy with a fast-paced, client-focused environment. If you bring practical contracting experience, strong attention to detail, and enjoy collaborating across teams, we’d love to hear from you.

What We Offer
  • Competitive compensation

  • Health, dental, and vision coverage

  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match

  • Paid time off and company holidays

  • Wellness programs and Employee Assistance Program

  • Flexible/remote work options (role-dependent)

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Draft, review, redline, comment on, and edit commercial agreements, with a particular focus on Work Orders, as well as Nondisclosure/Confidentiality Agreements, Start Up Agreements, Letters of Intent, and Change Orders in accordance with Clario contracting standards.

  • Review and support negotiations of more complex agreements, including Master Service Agreements and Data Privacy Agreements, with senior oversight and appropriate escalation to subject matter experts when terms fall outside established standards or playbooks.

  • Independently manage and prioritize assigned contracting cases, accurately maintaining key legal terms, documents, and case information in Salesforce while working within client-focused turnaround expectations.

  • Collaborate professionally with Sales, subject matter experts, and cross-functional colleagues to resolve contracting questions, communicate status, and help move agreements through the contracting process efficiently.

  • Maintain accurate and organized contract files, approvals, agreement versions, and electronic signatures while supporting departmental projects, training, and audit-related activities as needed.

What We Look For
  • Relevant education and/or practical experience in commercial contracting, legal operations, contract management, or a related field; a law degree is not required.

  • Hands-on experience drafting, reviewing, redlining, commenting on, or editing contracts, with the ability to demonstrate direct involvement in contractual language rather than solely contract administration or signature processing.

  • Experience with Work Orders or similar commercial agreements; familiarity with NDAs/CDAs, MSAs, DPAs, or other commercial contracts is beneficial.

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight turnaround times in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work professionally with internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, and cross-functional teams.

  • Experience using Salesforce or a comparable contract, case, or document management system; proficiency with Microsoft Word, including redlining and commenting, and working knowledge of Excel. Familiarity with Adobe or DocuSign is beneficial.

  • Ability to work remotely within the United States and collaborate effectively with colleagues across global time zones. Pharmaceutical and/or CRO industry experience is a plus.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
