Arcosa Aggregates is seeking a results-driven Continuous Improvement Senior Manager to join our Arlington, TX, or a regional office location (Chandler, AZ, Hammond, LA, Ferris, TX, or Tinton Falls, NJ) and serve as a strategic resource across our aggregate operations. This role is ideal for a leader passionate about plant optimization, operational excellence, and driving measurable improvements in efficiency and productivity in an aggregate environment. You’ll collaborate with plant managers, operations teams, and leadership to identify, quantify, and implement process improvement opportunities that enhance performance, reduce costs, and support long-term growth.

 Day to Day

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across multiple aggregate plants to optimize throughput, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Develop and refine AggFlow models in partnership with plant management to evaluate and improve plant flow, equipment optimization, and to seek improved productivity and reliability.
  • Identify performance gaps through data analysis and implement solutions that deliver measurable improvements.
  • Partner with site managers to evaluate mobile fleet performance, proper sizing, and to optimize utilization.
  • Serve as a resource in evaluating plant layouts, equipment upgrades, and structural modifications to improve productivity.

Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Analyze KPI data to uncover operational inefficiencies and financial opportunities.  You will serve as the point person for optimizing and enhancing our KPI tracking platform.

  • Interpret plant performance trends and translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Facilitate cross-functional discussions to align engineering and operational solutions with business goals.
  • Plan, schedule, and manage improvement projects, coordinating with vendors and contractors as needed.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Provide coaching and guidance to plant managers and teams on problem-solving methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen).
  • Engage stakeholders to ensure alignment on improvement priorities and execution.
  • Promote a behavior-based safety culture and environmental stewardship in all improvement initiatives.

 About You

  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence rather than authority — you coach, elevate, and empower plant leaders by serving as a trusted thought partner. You take pride in helping others succeed, guiding decision‑making behind the scenes.
  • Extensive knowledge of all aggregate processing equipment (crushing, screening, conveying, fines recovery, quality control, etc.), plant flow, and best practices.
  • Ability to understand and then influence and support process improvement opportunities across aggregate operations.
  • A robust understanding of aggregate plant and regional financials and being able to translate opportunities into real bottom-line value is key.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Mining), Operations Management, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in aggregate operations, plant optimization, or continuous improvement leadership.
  • Prior plant management and area/regional operational leadership experience is a plus.

  • Experience with AutoCAD (plant layouts), GIS tools.
  • Strong analytical mindset with proven ability to quantify and deliver measurable improvements.
  • Skilled in interpreting operational data, KPIs, and financial metrics.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
  • Financial acumen with the ability to identify and quantify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Proficiency with the MS Office suite of products
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including technical reporting.
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Comfortable working in both field and office environments.
  • Comfortable with up to 60-75% travel

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
