Are you ready to make an impact in the dynamic world of entertainment?  Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) is looking for an experienced Contingent Workforce Systems Lead to lead the design and enhancement of technologies used for managing our complex Contingent Workforce.  This is your chance to work within the Corporate IT group and collaborate with a diverse array of key stakeholders across SPE, including TV and Motion Picture Group Productions, Finance, IT and Cyber and Physical security teams.  We are seeking someone with a strong technical IT background. If you have experience with contingent workforce technology, technical skills, agile methodology experience, and a deep understanding of contingent labor models this could be the opportunity for you. 

This role will be within the Corporate IT group, reporting to the VP, Workforce Management leader.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee contingent workforce technologies and team acting as the primary point of contact for system enhancements, troubleshooting, triaging, root cause analysis, and strategic optimization.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify challenges, analyze root causes, and implement solutions that optimize the contingent workforce lifecycle (sourcing, onboarding, time-tracking to invoicing).  
  • Develop and execute comprehensive delivery plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies to ensure successful outcomes while adhering to scope, budget and timelines.   
  • Exercise sound judgment and autonomy in proposing ideas, experimenting with solutions, and following through on tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Provide clear and concise updates to stakeholders (e.g., HR, Legal, Finance, Productions Hiring Managers) and influence leaders on planning and prioritization of improvements.
  • Continuously seek out new insights, methods, and industry trends to identify opportunities for enhancing contingent workforce systems and processes.
  • Work with IT vendors, internal and external partners to stay informed about new features and functions that can benefit workforce solutions.
  • Partner on organizational change management initiatives by developing training programs, creating user-friendly documentation, and providing ongoing support to ensure successful end-user adoption and engagement.
  • Lead and provide regular status updates to executive leadership and stakeholders through well structured, professional presentations.
  • Oversee new and backlog requests, prioritizing based on level of business impact and compliance/legal requirements.
  • Develop and maintain business value metrics in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders to effectively measure the impact of IT initiatives on organizational goals.
  • Execute and deliver IT initiatives in alignment with established processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with IT Service Management frameworks and best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 6 years with a master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience supporting contingent workforce technical solutions with a deep understanding of their end-to-end lifecycle in mid-large global organizations.
  • Familiarity with VMS workflows and the integrations with broader HRIS and procurement/finance systems.
  • Understanding of the various types of contingent workers, including temporary staff, vendors, unions, sfreelancers, along with the unique considerations and variables associated with each type, such as compliance, onboarding processes and labor regulations.
  • Strong expertise with systems and project management tools (ServiceNow/Jira), and methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban etc.)
  • Proven experience in collaborating with diverse IT, Information Security, Legal, HR and Finance teams in delivering efficient and cost-effective optimization.
  • Ability for identifying and resolving issues and risks related to solution delivery. 
  • Demonstrated drive and ability to tackle new challenges and guide cross-functional teams through innovative approaches to deliver results in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
  • A passion for technology and willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Workday HCM business processes, organization management, data and reporting are strongly desired. Familiarity with Workday Extend module an added plus.
  • Experience with VMS tools such as VNDLY or Beeline, and with workflows that integrate with SAP and Ariba within the ecosystem.  
  • ITVLv4 foundation certified

The anticipated base salary for this position is $138,000-$167,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
