Encore, a Deluxe Entertainment Services Group company, has a position in its visual effects department in Burbank, CA.  Encore is an Emmy award winning VFX house, providing outstanding visual effects work for television and motion pictures. Encore provides post production services to top television series and is owned by Deluxe Entertainment Services Group Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of MacAndrews & Forbes Holdings Inc. Deluxe is the leading provider of a broad range of entertainment industry services and technologies to major Hollywood Studios and an international client base.

We currently have an opening for a Matchmove Artist with extensive background and experience in photo-real organic and mechanical characters and objects. The position will be located in Burbank, CA.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on operation of CG Workstation, reporting to 3D Leads and Supervisors.
• Accurately track both rigid and deforming objects in plates, such as cars, people, cloth, etc. while maintaining an accurate 3D volume for use in final compositing.
• Create Match Move (rotomation) animation on top of photographed plates.
• Must tackle challenging situations and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to take direction and effectively communicate with team and management.
• Consult with other artists on the team as required to maintain continuity and an overall cohesive look to the projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years working in visual effects including live action animation
• Demonstrated ability to produce high quality animation that shows weight and solid body mechanics
• Solid experience and understanding of MAYA and Shotgun; familiarity working within a production pipeline
• Knowledge of object and camera tracking in Syntheyes/3DEqualizer a plus
• 3ds Max knowledge a bonus
• Solid key frame animation skills
• Knowledge of anatomy, physics and human & creature motion
• Basic rigging knowledge a plus
• Must be organized, able to meet deadlines, and take responsibility for his/her work
• Proactive self-starter and trouble shooter
