MeUndies is a Los Angeles, CA-based underwear and loungewear company best known for its softer than soft basics. The innovative direct-to-consumer brand offers multiple purchasing options including singles, packs, matching pairs and its monthly membership. It opened its first flagship store in Los Angeles in 2018.

With a growing company, comes a growing team full of innovative people. We’re looking for an Associate Art Director to help lead the design team in execution of creative campaigns. This includes everything from advertising, digital, email, retail, packaging, partnerships and new ad formats. This position requires a blend of excellent creative and design skills, and experience managing design teams. A robust background in digital product marketing is a must.

 What You’ll Do 

  • Work with the Art Director to lead the design function of the Creative Team, including managing graphic designers
  • Help gather ideas, references and be a thought partner in creative visual concepts
  • Collaborate closely with the full marketing team as a strategic partner - understand the business objectives and provide leadership to the design team to help them make work that reaches those goals.
  • Work with the Art Director to manage the design team workload from concept through completion of all projects 
  • Oversee department daily workflow, including working with Project Managers, reviewing briefs, strategically assigning work across the team and managing deadlines for the design team
  • Prepare and manage the flow of weekly creative review decks
  • Inspire, develop and evaluate design team members through project development, performance management, and career development
  • Be a strong member of the design team yourself, producing both art direction and designs for our weekly product launches
  • Be a leading voice in design setting the bar for style and vibe.
  • Take on multiple design projects alongside organizational tasks
  • Own the creative prep and attendance of BAU ecommerce photoshoots to ensure great assets and content for creative

What You Have 

  • BA in Design or similar discipline.
  • Minimum 6 - 8 years of experience in design. Experience on the brand side is required
  • Minimum 1 - 2 years of experience managing designers
  • A thorough understanding of print/web production, functionality, site architecture, navigation, UX, email marketing standards, interactive design principles, etc
  • Advanced knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Flash. Experience with Sketch a plus.
  • Strong typography skills, layout and design sensibility are required
  • The ability to handle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • The ability to maintain a consistently professional and positive attitude with an openness to change and new ideas
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills including the ability to articulate creative concepts and collaborate across disciplines with team members at all levels
  • Strong leadership skills; ability to manage and lead a team
  • The ability to translate marketing direction into engaging, functional, and friendly user interface designs
  • Full studio designer capabilities. You will be executing as well as giving direction and coaching
