About Clutter by Iron Mountain

At Clutter, now part of Iron Mountain, we are redefining the storage and moving experience through digital innovation. A global enterprise that serves 95% of the S&P 1000. That gives us the backing and footprint of a market leader, while we operate with startup speed, ownership, and ambition. We’re committed to a user-centered design approach that enhances every step of our customers' journey, and we’re looking for a Content Strategist & Creator to help craft and execute compelling content strategies that engage, inform, and inspire users across our digital platforms.

About the Role

This is a hands-on creative role for someone who loves to both strategize and create. You will be our in-house storyteller and SEO engine, responsible for the entire content lifecycle—from identifying what our audience is searching for to creating the compelling content that answers their questions.

Your work will directly impact how Clutter shows up in the world. You’ll be writing insightful blog posts, scripting and producing short-form videos, crafting engaging social media updates, and optimizing our core web pages. You’ll ensure our content is not only visible in search engines and AI Overviews but is also genuinely helpful, engaging, and reflective of our brand.

You don’t need to be a master of everything on day one, but you must have a passion for creating content in multiple formats and a data-driven mindset. You’ll be supported by an experienced SEO advisor and a collaborative growth team dedicated to your success.

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation & Execution (60%)

  • Write and publish engaging, long-form content such as blog posts, guides, and articles that establish Clutter as a trusted authority.

  • Script, and potentially film or edit, short-form video content for platforms like Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts to explain our services and share moving tips.

  • Draft compelling copy for email marketing campaigns, including newsletters and automated sequences.

  • Create and adapt content for our social media channels, working to build a community and drive engagement.

  • Actively use AI tools like Gemini to efficiently research, draft, and iterate on content, transforming ideas into polished final products.

Content Strategy & SEO (30%)

  • Develop and maintain a multi-channel content calendar (blog, social, video, email) that aligns with user needs and business priorities.

  • Conduct keyword research and competitive analysis to identify new content opportunities that target real customer pain points.

  • Optimize all content—new and existing—for search visibility, focusing on clarity, on-page SEO best practices (headings, internal links, alt text), and user experience.

  • Update and test page titles and meta descriptions to improve click-through rates from search results.

  • Contribute to a test-and-learn strategy, experimenting with different content formats and channels to see what resonates most with our audience.

Performance & Collaboration (10%)

  • Track and report on key content and SEO metrics using tools like Google Search Console and GA4 to measure impact and inform future strategy.

  • Work closely with the Growth Marketing team and SEO Advisor to prioritize work, share insights, and ensure a cohesive brand message.

  • Maintain clear documentation of our content strategy, plans, and performance.

Who You Are

  • A Natural Creator: You have a portfolio of work that shows your ability to create engaging content, especially in written form (blogs, articles). Experience with video or social media content is a major plus.

  • An Excellent Communicator: You have strong writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and brand voice.

  • SEO-Savvy: You have a solid understanding of fundamental SEO principles and how to apply them to content creation.

  • Curious & Proactive: You’re excited to learn new things, experiment with formats, and use tools (including AI) to work smarter. You don’t wait to be told what to do.

  • Collaborative: You enjoy working with a team to bring ideas to life.

Why Join Clutter

  • Shape a Brand: Directly influence how Clutter is perceived and discovered online.

  • Flex Your Creativity: Get hands-on experience creating content across various media, from writing to video.

  • Grow Your Skills: Work at the intersection of startup energy and enterprise support, with guidance from experienced marketers.

  • Flexible Work: We are open to full-time, part-time, or job-share arrangements.

  • Competitive Pay: Receive competitive compensation with room to grow as you and the business expand.

Reasonably expected salary range: $79,200.00 - $105,600.00

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
