Job Description:

Disney’s Direct to Consumer team oversees the Hulu and Disney+ streaming businesses within Disney Entertainment, helping to bring The Walt Disney Company’s best-in-class storytelling to fans and families everywhere. 

 

The Disney+ Global Content Programming and Subscriber Engagement team is responsible for leading content planning, scheduling, on-service merchandising, slate management, and programming insights that contribute to a cohesive strategic content approach for the service. 

 

Job Summary:  

The Content Planning Associate will provide pivotal support to the global side of the Disney+ Content Planning & Scheduling team under Disney+ Programming. This person will support initiatives related to Disney catalog and acquisitions. Key responsibilities include maintenance and auditing of databases, localization strategy, global release strategy, and day-to-day change management through the lifecycle of titles. The ideal candidate will have a meticulous eye to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a strong sense of collaboration and diplomacy. This role will be instrumental in establishing processes and enhancing support tools. This position reports into the Manager, Content Planning. 

 

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role: 

  • Manage tracking and reporting of Disney+ global premiere dates, in partnership with global and local planning teams for Catalog and Acquisitions 
  • Communicate with key stakeholders to inform day-to-day shifts and change management. Represent Disney+ Content Planning in all forms of communication and meetings with a professional and diplomatic attitude. 
  • Meticulously maintain and help generate databases, reports, and documents for leadership and stakeholder consumption through the lifecycle of a title.  
  • Provide support for ad hoc projects and requests 

 

Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training: 

  • Experience in fields related to content planning, content curation, and content strategy. 

  • SVOD or Linear TV experience a plus 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize, independently managing and accomplishing a variety of assignments punctually and efficiently 

  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong organizational skills, precise attention to detail, and commitment to follow-through 

  • Self-starter who is solution-oriented  

  • Consistently demonstrate professionalism, diplomacy, and tact, with the ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality  

  • Maintain a positive, professional demeanor under pressure 

  • Applies good instincts and judgement navigating complex situations and environments 

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills to instill trust and confidence 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and Google Applications (Slides, Docs, Sheets) 

  • Proficiency in Airtable a plus 

  • Passion for The Walt Disney Company segments, brands, and franchises. 

      

Required Education and Experience 

●     Bachelor’s degree 

●     2+ years experience in a related field 

  

Preferred Education and Experience 

●     SVOD experience 

 

 

 

 

The hiring range for this position in Glendale is $72,000.00 to $96,500.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
