ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for a Content Marketing Manager to join our growing Organic Marketing team. This is a hands-on role for an experienced content marketer, creator, and problem solver. You'll turn strategy into high-quality programs across our blog, email, organic social, and other priority content initiatives.

Search is changing fast. AI-driven discovery is reshaping how buyers find, evaluate, and cite brands. Reporting to the Director of Organic Marketing, you'll help spearhead content marketing at Sortly and build our visibility across traditional SEO, AI-driven search, and owned channels. You'll lead day-to-day content planning and production and manage our agency and freelance partners.

Beyond always-on publishing, you'll help develop more authoritative and differentiated content. That includes proprietary research and benchmark studies, deeper data-rich editorial, competitive content, customer stories, and demand generation assets. You'll turn proprietary data, customer stories, and product messaging into compelling editorial that builds authority and sets Sortly apart. You'll also collaborate closely with Demand Generation, Product Marketing, Data, and other teams on integrated campaigns, product initiatives, and cross-functional priorities.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Content Marketing & SEO

  • Execute against Sortly's evolving organic search strategy by developing richer, more authoritative, better-optimized content that performs across both traditional and AI-driven search.
  • Lead editorial planning and production across the blog and priority web content. Manage the editorial calendar and move work from brief through publication while maintaining quality, consistency, and publishing velocity.
  • Draft and shape high-value editorial assets, including deeper data-rich blog content, competitive content, customer stories, and gated demand generation assets such as lead magnets and event content.
  • Partner with our Data team to develop proprietary research and benchmark studies, translating analysis and findings into compelling narratives and finished content.
  • Build and refine AI-assisted workflows across research, outlining, drafting, editing, and optimization to scale production without compromising quality or brand voice.
  • Serve as the day-to-day owner of our agency and freelance relationships, handling assignments, editorial feedback, production timelines, and delivery.
  • Monitor content and channel performance and use the results to identify opportunities and recommend improvements.

Email Marketing

  • Own the weekly Inventory Insider newsletter, including planning, writing, deployment, and ongoing optimization.
  • Improve newsletter performance through audience segmentation, testing, and iteration based on engagement and conversion data.
  • Collaborate with Demand Generation and Product Marketing on email content that supports broader campaigns and nurture programs.

Organic Social Media

  • Lead planning, content creation, and day-to-day execution across Sortly's organic social channels, including LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram.
  • Test new formats and approaches to improve engagement, reach, and brand visibility with priority audiences.
  • Repurpose editorial, research, customer, and campaign content into platform-native social content.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support company announcements, product launches, and integrated marketing campaigns.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 5+ years of experience in content marketing, preferably for B2B audiences.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills across formats, including blog and editorial, email, social, customer stories, and longer-form assets.
  • Hands-on experience managing content programs across multiple channels, such as blog, email, and organic social.
  • A strong understanding of SEO best practices and familiarity with emerging GEO and AI-search considerations.
  • Experience using AI tools to improve content research, creation, optimization, or production workflows.
  • A demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information, data, and subject-matter expertise into clear, compelling content.
  • A proven ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders, external partners, and deadlines while maintaining high editorial standards.
  • Experience using content performance data to identify opportunities and improve execution.
  • Experience with B2B SaaS.
  • Bonus points for experience with Construction or Field Services audiences, or with topics such as inventory management and asset tracking.
  • HubSpot and WordPress experience is a plus.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
