About the position

Chirp is looking for an analytically-oriented book lover with 2+ years of professional experience to join the Content team. They’ll be responsible for curating and merchandising books for our large community of audiobook lovers, and managing content curation processes across the team.  
 

Here’s an example of what someone can expect to accomplish in their first year in the position:

  • Source and review audiobook submissions from our author and publisher partners and choose which deals will perform best with our members, making data-driven decisions based on internal trends and industry research
  • Curate, categorize, and merchandise books across the Chirp website, emails, and other placements to create an engaging experience and make it easy for readers to find something they’ll love  
  • Plan and implement content strategy for monthly themed sales
  • Plan, monitor, and manage curation processes to ensure team hits its goals 
  • Write, edit, and proofread enticing error-free copy for books and other book marketing content, matching Chirp’s brand voice and encouraging readers to click and buy
  • Identify curation, merchandising, and operational opportunities and collaborate within the Content team and across teams to drive change
     

Ideal candidates for this position will:

  • Feel comfortable with data-driven decision-making and owning success metrics
  • Be familiar with a wide range of book genres and categories and comfort working with books/genres they are less familiar with
  • Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Enjoy working collaboratively and cross-functionally with other teams
  • Work autonomously and balance competing priorities effectively
  • Have outstanding professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Have excellent copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Be excited to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
     

Salary & Benefits

The anticipated salary range for this role is $58,000 - $65,000 annually. The salary offer will be commensurate with experience, and will be adjusted within or around this range based on the candidate who ultimately joins our team. Total compensation also includes stock option awards and competitive benefit options including medical, dental, vision, 401k, generous paid parental leave, and take-what-you-need paid time off.

 

Remote work flexibility

Please note: for this role, we are considering candidates who are located in the following states: MA, NY, RI, ME, PA,  IL and MD.

Our team has choose-where-you-work flexibility that allows you to choose a predominantly remote, hybrid, or in-office setup at our office in Cambridge, Massachusetts. We’ll help each team member figure out the work set up that’s best for them, including WFH equipment or a dedicated desk space in our office.

Most of our teams currently operate with a hybrid model, with some people working full- or part-time from the office, and some from home. We value and prioritize collaboration across mediums and spaces, and we invest in ensuring that meetings and other forms of collaboration are set up with equal access regardless of where you work.
