SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly skilled Content Developer, or Technical Writer, to join MasterControl’s Integrated Education team in the Customer Experience organization. This role is pivotal in facilitating documentation workflows by connecting our content authoring systems through APIs, creating sophisticated technical documentation for developers and highly technical audiences, and managing product releases for content teams. The ideal candidate will blend exceptional writing abilities with deep technical knowledge and API integration expertise. This position is fully remote.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Documentation and content development
- Partner with product and engineering teams to translate complex technical concepts into accessible documentation (e.g., help files, academy courses, release notes)
- Create clear, accurate, and comprehensive technical documentation targeted to developers and technical users
- Develop and maintain API reference materials, integration guides, and developer-focused content
- Understand product release documentation and cadences, and support content teams to ensure timely delivery
SYSTEMS MIGRATION AND INTEGRATION
- Leverage and integrate content authoring systems via APIs to streamline documentation workflows
- Apply AI tools and automation to enhance content creation, translation, and management processes
- Build and maintain documentation for internal and external system integrations
- Create workflow-driven content and innovative information architecture solutions
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- REST APIs, SOAP, and related web service technologies
- Experience with API documentation tools and frameworks
- Knowledge of programming languages (JavaScript, Python, etc.)
- Documentation-as-code approaches and version control (e.g., Git)
- Content management systems and documentation platforms
- AI applications in content workflows (automation and translation tools)
- Experience with translation management tools
- Software development methodologies and engineering practices
- Understanding of content design thinking
- Understand the impact of education in software adoption
- Experience with: Skilljar, ServiceNow, Pendo, Jira/Atlassian suite
- Structured authoring and content reuse strategies
- Background in developing templates and automation scripts
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years experience writing technical documentation for developer audiences
- Previous work in SaaS or enterprise software documentation preferred
- Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to operate a computer and work at a desk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing, in person, over the telephone and in e-mail.
- Ability to work non-standard hours and travel as required.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $80,000 - $90,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
