Job Summary:
Complete high-level Actuarial work responsibilities that are near that of the level of Actuarial Director with minimal supervision and required guidance from Actuarial Director. Actively foster the professional development of other Actuarial Analysts. Provide in-depth analysis of complicated insurance issues, incorporating extensive health background information and cross-functional input.

 

Essential Functions:

  • The essential functions listed represent the major duties of this role, additional duties may be assigned. 
  • Provide in-depth analysis of complicated insurance issues, incorporating extensive health background information and cross-functional input.
  • Support and analyze activities related to all lines of business.
  • Maintain and improve Actuarial analyses such as trend setting, gross margin reporting, and financial forecasting.
  • Establish/develop and analyze rates, rating methodologies, and underwriting criteria.
  • Represent Actuarial on cross-functional workgroups as an active participant.
  • Analyze and report forecasts/variances.
  • Support Product Development, including assisting benefit design.
  • Analyze the structure and impact of provider contracts.
  • Support Delivery Systems.
  • Provide leadership in ensuring compliance with the Office of Insurance Regulation.


Required Work Experience:
8+ years related work experience. 
Related Bachelor's degree required Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics or related 
Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) 
Ability to communicate and present detailed business and financial information in a clear and concise way to all levels of management 
In-depth knowledge of various aspects of health insurance 
Familiarity with programming languages 
PC software (spreadsheets, graphics, word processors)

Additional Preferred Qualifications
10 or more years of successful, progressive professional work experience SAS and/or SQL experience 
 

General Physical Demands:
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.

To support your financial wellbeing, we offer competitive pay as well as opportunities for incentive or commission compensation. We also conduct regular annual reviews with pay for performance considerations for base pay increases. 
Annualized Salary Range: $141,700 - $230,200
Typical Annualized Hiring Range: $150,000 - $185,000
Final pay will be determined with consideration of market competitiveness, internal equity, and the job-related knowledge, skills, training, and experience you bring.
