CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST - EL SEGUNDO, CA

As a Configuration Management Specialist, you will support the creation, maintenance, and distribution of configuration documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with established standards. You will assist in evaluating configuration change requests, maintaining records and databases, and coordinating with program teams to ensure information is current and properly controlled. This is a full-time, onsite position based at our headquarters in El Segundo, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in preparing, organizing, and maintaining configuration documentation, including drawings, change records, and software release materials.
  • Participate in the review of configuration change requests for accuracy and compliance with internal procedures and standards such as AS9100D.
  • Maintain up-to-date records in configuration management systems to support traceability, release control, and audit readiness.
  • Support the controlled release and distribution of configuration-controlled documents to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Provide configuration management and document control support to engineering, manufacturing, and certification teams.
  • Assist in conducting configuration baseline reviews and preparing documentation for aircraft build package releases.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of configuration management procedures and related documentation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • 1–3 years of experience in configuration management, engineering document control, or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with configuration management standards (e.g., AS9100D), engineering change processes, and release control.
  • Exposure to Polarion ALM, Arena, Windchill, or other configuration/document management systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and documentation discipline.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, process-driven environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in configuration management, document control, or a related discipline.
  • CMIIB (CMII Basics), CMPIC certification, or similar coursework (or willingness to obtain certification within a reasonable timeframe).
  • Proficiency with Polarion ALM or other configuration management and PLM tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
