Job Description: Strategic Technology Partners LLC (www.stpfederal.com) has an opportunity for a Configuration Management (CM) Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting configuration management processes, maintaining system baselines, tracking changes across environments, and ensuring all technical configurations are properly documented and controlled. You will play a critical role in managing configuration items, supporting release and deployment activities, and helping maintain system stability, operational consistency, and compliance with project requirements and organizational standards.
Required Skills and Experience:
• Support configuration management processes, procedures, and change control activities across IT environments
• Maintain and manage configuration items (CIs), system baselines, and asset inventories
• Track, document, and validate system configuration changes to ensure accuracy and consistency
• Assist with software releases, deployments, version control, and environment management
• Monitor configuration compliance and identify unauthorized or unapproved changes
• Collaborate with infrastructure, development, cybersecurity, and project teams to maintain operational stability
• Support audits, system reviews, and reporting related to configuration management activities
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, configuration records, and standard operating procedures
• Experience with configuration management tools, repositories, or ticketing systems
• 3+ years of experience in Configuration Management, IT Operations, Systems Administration, or related roles
• Familiarity with change management and IT service management (ITSM) processes
• Experience working in Windows and/or Linux environments
• Knowledge of version control, system lifecycle management, and deployment processes
• Experience with tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, Git, SCCM, or similar platforms
• Ability to troubleshoot configuration-related issues and support environment consistency
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Education Requirement: A bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, engineering or related field preferred
Security Requirement: Must be able to obtain a Federal Clearance. No exceptions can be made
Location: The position is remote with occasional visits to the federal office for administrative matters.
