Review and clear loan conditions for completeness and compliance with company, investor, and FNMA/FHLMC requirements; request documentation, update conditions, sign off on underwriting and closing conditions, clear OPS alerts/errors, and support underwriters and funders within scope.
- Responsible for reviewing loan conditions for completeness
- Support the underwriting piece of the mortgage loan approval process based on adherence to company, investor and FNMA/FHLMC requirements
- Request additional information when needed and update loan conditions
- Review and sign off on underwriting and closing conditions as they are met
- Respond to originator/processor questions regarding loan programs, clarification of loan conditions and status of loans in process
- Clear alerts and error messages in OPS that relate to credit and collateral
- Assist Underwriters and Funders with clearing conditions within scope of authority
- Perform other duties and/or mortgage related tasks as assigned by management
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 3 years of mortgage lending experience required, with 1 year of underwriting exposure or equivalent combination preferred
- Knowledge of the basic mortgage practices
- Able to read and interpret various loan documents such as promissory notes, regulatory and legal directives, and other loan documents
- Able to apply basic math; calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages
- Basic computer skills required: word processing, Excel spreadsheets, email, and mortgage software
