Concept Art Leads at Riot support the quality and performance of their team through their craft expertise. Your scope of responsibilities include partnership with team leadership, an understanding of audience resonance, team culture and performance, growth of your direct reports, and leading your team on successful execution of VALORANT’s Premium Content art style and quality.

As Concept Art Lead for Premium Content on VALORANT, you are responsible for concept art on Premium Content from initial ideation through to production, ensuring their cohesion in style and quality supports VALORANT’s art direction and gameplay. You will partner closely with Art Leads to ensure your team collaborates effectively across disciplines to deliver iconic, creative, and resonant content that amplify gameplay for players. You will report into the Sr. Manager, Art Direction on Premium Content.

Responsibilities:
  • Actively collaborate with team leads to develop a cohesive vision for each piece of content that ensures audience resonance, and successful portrayal of the weapon skins experience.
  • Ideate and create highly varied weapon designs
  • Provide paint-overs and directional feedback for internal and external partners.
  • Lead, manage, and mentor a high performing, and collaborative concept art team
  • Define and evangelize the concept art quality bar across the broader Premium Content team, including for outsource and co-dev contributors
  • Work with production to ensure your team’s timely and successful delivery of products
  • Maintain and contribute to artifacts that inform, align, and empower teams to successfully create character concept art in the VALORANT style
Required Qualifications: 
  • 6+ years of experience as an artist in the games industry
  • 3+ years of experience leading weapon focused concept art teams in game development
  • Deep understanding of weapon design principles including functionality, visual hierarchy, and material contrast with the ability to translate gameplay intent into strong, readable forms.
  • Expertise in stylized designs, demonstrating mastery of shape language, silhouette clarity, and color theory to create distinctive and cohesive weapon concepts that align with the VALORANTS art direction.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Has shipped weapons for at least one First Person Shooter
  • Knowledge of the VALORANT IP
