The Compliance Testing Data Analyst is an individual contributor who provides data analytics, automation, and reporting expertise in support of Aqua’s Compliance Testing and Monitoring program. This role analyzes data, develops scalable testing and monitoring solutions, identifies trends and risks, and produces reliable reporting to support effective compliance oversight.

Essential Functions

  • Support the execution of the Compliance Testing and Monitoring program through data analysis, population identification and validation, sampling support, testing workbook preparation, results aggregation, and exception analysis.

  • Collect, validate, reconcile, and analyze data from internal systems, business reports, GRC tools, SharePoint, Excel workbooks, and other approved data sources used in compliance testing and monitoring activities.

  • Develop, maintain, document, and enhance compliance testing methodologies and analytics routines, including data logic, testing rules, exception criteria, thresholds, sampling logic, repeatable queries, and testing outputs.

  • Develop and maintain testing data files, dashboards, metrics, reports, trackers, and recurring monitoring routines to support timely, accurate, and consistent testing execution and reporting.

  • Develop and enhance automated and semi-automated testing, monitoring, and reporting solutions using tools such as Excel, Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint, SQL, and other approved analytics, reporting, or workflow tools.

  • Analyze large data populations to identify trends, outliers, anomalies, potential exceptions, repeat issues, control weaknesses, and emerging compliance risks.

  • Support risk-based testing by translating test objectives into data requirements, identifying relevant populations and testing attributes, supporting sample selection, and validating the completeness and reliability of data used for testing.

  • Prepare clear and accurate testing results summaries, exception reports, trend analyses, dashboards, metrics, and management reporting that communicate testing outcomes, risk themes, identified issues, and remediation status.

  • Support testing execution and workpaper quality by preparing and maintaining accurate, complete, organized, and independently reviewable data extracts, sampling files, calculations, evidence, supporting documentation, exception validation, and testing results.

  • Assist Compliance Testing team members with data preparation, exception validation, evidence gathering, issue documentation, root cause analysis support, remediation validation, and retesting activities.

  • Maintain testing-related schedules, trackers, reporting inventories, issue validation logs, action item logs, and documentation repositories to support effective program governance, transparency, and timely completion of testing activities.

  • Partner with Compliance, Legal, Risk, Audit, IT, Data, and Business Unit stakeholders to obtain data, clarify data definitions and requirements, resolve data quality issues, and support timely completion of testing and monitoring activities.

  • Support compliance testing reporting and data requests for the Chief Compliance Officer, senior management, management committees, bank partners, audits, examinations, regulators, and other oversight stakeholders.

  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve testing efficiency, reporting consistency, data quality, automation, monitoring routines, documentation, and repeatability of testing processes.

  • Support special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or commensurate work experience, required

  • 8 years of experience in data analytics, compliance testing, monitoring, audit support, risk management, financial services operations, or a related analytical role preferred.

  • 5 years of experience supporting compliance within financial services required.

  • Experience analyzing and reconciling large data populations, identifying trends and anomalies, and preparing accurate reporting required.

  • Advanced Excel skills required; experience with SQL, Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint, GRC systems, or similar tools preferred.

  • Experience with testing methodologies, monitoring logic, exception rules, sampling methodologies, or repeatable analytics routines preferred.

  • General understanding of compliance testing, internal controls, issue validation, documentation standards, and consumer financial services compliance preferred.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills, with the ability to translate testing objectives into data requirements, analyze results, prepare clear reporting, and maintain accurate and independently reviewable documentation while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across Compliance, Legal, IT, Data, and Business Unit stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated sound judgment, discretion, professionalism, and ability to handle confidential information in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, visualize, talk, hear, and handle or touch objects or controls. The employee may occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 20 pounds.

This position is an office-based position where you must be able to sit for long periods of time. The employee will be working on a computer 90% of the time.
