ACCIONA is seeking a knowledgeable and committed Compliance Officer to strengthen its Compliance function in North America.
This full-time, Atlanta-based position will play a key role in embedding the ACCIONA´s Compliance Model into the organization’s operations, ensuring ongoing alignment with U.S. federal and state regulatory requirements, ACCIONA's internal Policies and Standards, and the specific legal and operational considerations of states where we operate.
The role will report directly to the Compliance Group (based in Spain) and maintain close coordination with business and corporate teams both in North America.

Job Description

  • Lead and coordinate the progressive deployment of ACCIONA´s Compliance Model across North America operations, ensuring robust implementation and follow-up. 

  • Monitor and interpret applicable federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., anti-bribery, anti-corruption, anti-trust, international sanctions/trade controls), as well as compliance contract requirements, working closely with internal teams to adapt ACCIONA´s policies and controls accordingly. 

  • Propose enhancements to existing compliance procedures and internal controls based on regulatory developments, risk assessments, or audit findings. 

  • Act as a point of contact for compliance issues at the local level, supporting decision-making and internal alignment. 

  • Design and deliver training and awareness initiatives tailored to different teams and functions. 

  • Collaborate closely with Legal, HR, Internal Audit, Finance, and Operations to integrate compliance into business practices. 

  • Contribute to periodic compliance reporting and the definition of KPIs and monitoring tools. 

  • Participate in third-party due diligence processes and the evaluation of business partners and subcontractors. 

  • Represent the Compliance area in internal committees or working groups, as needed. 

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, International Relations, or a related field. A postgraduate degree in Compliance, Ethics, or Risk Management is a plus. 

  • Minimum 6 - 8 years of experience in compliance roles, with solid exposure to U.S. regulatory frameworks, ideally in the infrastructure sectors. 

  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and overseeing compliance programs, including areas such as anti-corruption, antitrust, and trade compliance. 

  • Strong understanding of U.S. federal and state regulatory landscapes. Familiarity with multi-jurisdictional environments is a plus. 

  • Experience working in or with multinational organizations and cross-border teams. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Spanish language skills are an asset. 

  • High level of integrity, discretion, and autonomy, with the ability to lead initiatives and collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.
