As a Compliance Data Analyst at IMC, you will manage day-to-day compliance data support, analysis functions, and compliance initiatives. You will also:
  • Serve as the first line of defense in keeping our business compliant. This means you'll maintain accurate, organized, and current compliance records that allow the Firm to respond quickly to any inquiry or audit.
  • Work with a wide variety of data on a massive scale, investigating and solving data-driven problems using a modern data science approach.
  • Analyze and compile data into meaningful summaries, identify trends promptly, and share findings with the team.
  • Collaborate and communicate with cross-functional teams, particularly IT Systems, to create solutions across multiple departments and improve quality and efficiency.
  • Have access to extensive internal technical training and skills development programs; come hungry to learn.
  • Work as part of a team and independently. You should be able to work through a problem and come to a solution on your own through asking great questions and doing research. An analytical and inquisitive mind is essential to your success.

YOUR CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Partner with Compliance officers to drive IMC's regulatory vision and compliance efforts
  • Design, build, and maintain trade surveillance applications and data ETL pipelines in Python
  • Support internal and external compliance surveillance tools
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines for data availability and fidelity
  • Operational support for key external Compliance Data Reporting platforms (e.g., Consolidated Audit Trail, MIFID Transaction Reporting, Futures Audit Trail)
  • Maintain detailed, accurate, and organized documentation of execution of the Firm's processes and procedures
  • Work closely with traders and developers to automate compliance functions
  • Assist in investigating compliance data issues, responding to data requests, audits, and regulatory exams, including trade data review and analysis
  • Collaborate with compliance teams in other regions where applicable
  • Balance immediate risk and compliance exposure with the longer-term needs of the firm

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Strong skills in Python and SQL, with experience using data analysis and visualization tools such as pandas, Polars, PySpark, Jupyter, and Plotly Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Comfortable with Linux shell commands, scripting, and Git
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with agentic coding tools
  • Experience with data visualization and dashboard platforms
  • Experience querying TB-scale datasets and solving data-driven problems (Hadoop experience a plus)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ownership and accountability for deliverables
  • Basic understanding of the financial industry
  • Experience with meeting business requirements for regulatory requests, audits, examinations, and investigations a plus
  • Ability to work independently as well as with others in a small team
  • 2+ years of experience working for a proprietary trading firm, exchange, regulatory organization, broker dealer, futures commission merchant, or similar organization
  • A Bachelor's degree with a financial or technical focus; Master's degree a plus
  • FINRA Series License SIE and 57 will be required within 1 year of employment
