Hadrian — Manufacturing the Future

Hadrian is building autonomous factories that help aerospace and defense companies manufacture rockets, satellites, jets, and ships up to 10x faster and 2x cheaper. By combining advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing, we’re reinventing how America produces its most critical parts.

We recently raised a $260M Series C to accelerate this mission. Our new 270,000 sq. ft. Mesa, AZ factory will create hundreds of new jobs and expand Hadrian’s ability to deliver at scale. Backed by Lux Capital, Founders Fund, and Andreessen Horowitz, we’re building a cornerstone of America’s industrial future.

The Role

Hadrian is seeking a Compliance Counsel l to join our growing Legal team. This is a broad exposure role designed for an attorney who is eager to learn, build foundational in-house legal skills, and grow alongside a rapidly scaling advanced manufacturing company.

You will work closely with senior members of the Legal team and support a wide range of day-to-day legal matters across the business. This role offers hands-on experience across commercial and government contracts, employment support, intellectual property, ITAR and export controls, real estate and permitting, and other compliance areas in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.

  • Help maintain contract records and legal documentation

  • Support audits, diligence requests, and internal reviews

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners in People, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain

  • Contribute to building templates, playbooks, and scalable legal processes as the company grows

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of legal experience (law firm, clerkship, and/or in-house)

  • Strong interest in developing a broad in-house legal skill set

  • Self-starter and comfortable tackling questions of first impression across a variety of areas, assessing risk, engaging outside counsel, and making preliminary recommendations under supervision

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively with guidance

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

  • Curious, coachable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

What Will Set You Apart:
  • Prior exposure to government, contracts, employment law, and/or compliance work

  • Experience or interest in regulated industries (manufacturing, aerospace, defense, energy, or similar)

  • Familiarity with government contracts or working with government customers (a plus, not required)

  • Interest in supporting an hourly or non-exempt workforce

  • Desire to grow and help build a Legal team over time

Compensation

For this role, the target salary range is $185,000 - $220,000 (actual range may vary based on experience).

This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Benefits

  • 401(k)

  • Relocation stipend for out-of-area hires

  • Flexible vacation policy

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
