  • “I can succeed as a Senior Compliance Associate at Capital Group.”

As a Senior Compliance Associate, you will help to ensure we comply with regulations, requirements, and policies. You’ll conduct investment compliance research, manage, and prepare regulatory filings. You’ll leverage your passion for process optimization to support our global compliance controls and ownership reporting. Every day will be different as you partner with our in-house lawyers, compliance managers, and investment operations professionals to assist our portfolio compliance operations and research global regulatory requirements. You will learn how to audit our systems to ensure our controls are working properly. To thrive in this role, you enjoy new challenges and are constantly trying to improve existing processes. Experience in the securities or investment management industry is a plus, but it is not required.

Please note, this role does require you to work in the office three times a week, Wednesday is the anchor day.

“I am the person Capital Group is looking for.”

    • You are detail-oriented and have conscious processes in your current position that demonstrate a commitment to accuracy.

    • You’ve always loved researching and cross-referencing different sources of information to uncover gaps and discrepancies. To connect dots, you vacillate between seeing the big picture and dissecting precise details.

    • You appreciate the sense of accomplishment achieved when you solve a problem using your good judgment.

    • You have an interest and eagerness to learn about emerging technologies such as robotic process automation or machine learning.

    • By asking great questions and bouncing ideas off others, you proactively share your perspective. You’re a skilled communicator and thrive in team settings by being authentic, respectful, and engaging.

    • You're very proficient with Microsoft Suite (Excel/PowerPoint/Word/Power-BI).

    • Alteryx a plus.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
