About Tribe AI:

At Tribe, we’re on a mission to help enterprises realize the value of AI for their business. Today, every large enterprise wants to use AI to transform its business, but they often lack the capabilities to do so. At Tribe, we see this gap as our opportunity.

Tribe is an AI-native services company that helps enterprises build best-in-class AI products that matter for their business. One of the unique aspects of Tribe is that we staff our projects from a network of 600+ specialized AI engineers and product builders, rather than a traditional W2 workforce. The Community Manager will work with this talented group of engineers and product leaders to ensure that they are working on engagements that are impactful to their careers and Tribe's customers.

About the Role:

We're seeking an ambitious, technically proficient Community Manager with a background in AI and machine learning to deepen engagement within our talent network. This role is ideal for a social, analytical, and emotionally intelligent individual who is passionate about building meaningful relationships within the technical community, hosting impactful events, and designing processes that elevate our member experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Talent Engagement:
    • Gain a deep understanding of members' technical skill sets, AI expertise (machine learning, data engineering, NLP, etc.), and availability to optimize strategic staffing.
    • Foster genuine, personalized interactions within the AI community to enhance member satisfaction, collaboration, and retention.

  • Event Planning and Technical Community Development:
    • Plan and host in-person and digital events specifically tailored for AI professionals, including workshops, meetups, hackathons, and knowledge-sharing sessions that strengthen Tribe AI’s talent brand.
    • Coordinate closely with internal teams and external industry experts to curate valuable, technically engaging content.

  • Optimizing Onboarding and Community Experience:
    • Design, implement, and refine onboarding experiences specifically targeted toward technical and AI-focused talent to ensure seamless integration and immediate value delivery.
    • Develop and iterate innovative systems and processes to continuously enhance technical community engagement.

  • Insights and Analytics:
    • Track, analyze, and interpret community engagement data, leveraging insights to continuously improve member experiences and AI community health.
    • Regularly provide actionable insights to senior leadership based on detailed analysis and trends within the AI talent network.

About You:

  • Hungry, technically savvy, with a solid foundation in AI, machine learning, or data science.
  • Highly social, emotionally intelligent, and adept at building trust and strong professional relationships quickly.
  • Located in the Bay Area or NYC and comfortable in a dynamic, hybrid work environment.
  • Exceptional communicator capable of translating technical expertise into meaningful community-building initiatives.
  • Organized, proactive, analytical, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Passionate about fostering technical communities and creating standout experiences for top-tier AI talent.

Why Join Us:

  • Directly interact with and learn from elite AI talent driving high-impact projects.
  • Influence and shape community strategies in an innovative, rapidly scaling AI startup.
  • Join a forward-thinking, collaborative, and dynamic team passionate about AI innovation.
  • Join a culture where creative problem-solving and continuous improvement are core to our DNA
  • Accelerate your career in a high-growth environment where you'll have the autonomy to implement your vision and the support to succeed
  • Receive an attractive compensation package including equity, comprehensive benefits, and the opportunity to share in Tribe's success

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
