Description

We’re looking for a passionate and crypto-native Community Manager to grow, engage, and represent the Cosmos Ecosystem. You’ll be the bridge between the Cosmos core teams, ecosystem projects, and the broader community, shaping how users, validators, and builders interact with the network and each other.

This role is ideal for someone who lives and breathes Web3, thrives in community spaces, and understands the nuances of decentralized ecosystems and on-chain governance. You’ll drive participation across governance and social channels, help craft the community voice for Cosmos, and cultivate a thriving, informed, and inclusive environment for ATOM holders and contributors.

Our ideal candidate combines deep crypto curiosity with sharp communication instincts. You’re diplomatic in debates, witty on socials, fast to spot trends, and even faster to turn them into opportunities for connection and growth.

Role Responsibilities
  • Grow and engage the Cosmos community across Discord, Telegram, X (Twitter), Reddit, and other platforms.
  • Foster authentic dialogue around governance, tokenomics, and ecosystem updates, translating technical topics into clear, relatable narratives.
  • Identify and nurture community champions, validators, builders, and educators, to amplify their voices and strengthen grassroots participation.
  • Plan and execute community campaigns that deepen engagement and celebrate community achievements.
  • Moderate conversations, manage moderators, and uphold a positive, inclusive, and constructive tone across all community spaces.
  • Gather and synthesize community sentiment, feedback, and insights to help inform internal marketing and comms strategies.
  • Collaborate with ecosystem partners on co-marketing and joint community campaigns.
  • Create and manage community content that make Cosmos approachable and engaging.
  • Track and analyze community metrics to measure growth, engagement, and overall health.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Previous experience managing online or open-source communities (crypto strongly preferred).
  • Familiarity with Cosmos Hub, ATOM, and the broader Cosmos Ecosystem.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proven ability to plan and execute community campaigns across multiple channels.
  • Skilled at conflict resolution and community moderation
  • Understanding of on-chain governance dynamics
  • Self-starter, creative thinker, and proactive problem solver.
  • Confident and fluent in English.

Bonus:

  • Strong social media presence and/or existing relationships within the Cosmos and Web3 ecosystem.
  • Multilingual and/or experience building regional communities
  • Familiarity with validator operations and staking mechanics.
  • Basic knowledge of content creation tools, especially AI content creation tools (video, memes, design, or writing).
  • Funny, relatable, and witty on the spot.

Disclaimer: This is a contract-based role. Benefits, if applicable, will be provided in accordance with the laws and regulations of the state in which the work is performed and do not include full-time employee benefits.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
