Who we are

At Coefficient, we’re bringing spreadsheets into the 21st century. Yes, it’s an ambitious goal, to reinvent one of the backbones of the world economy. But the time for spreadsheet modernization is now.

We’re a San Francisco-based startup with an international and remote-friendly workforce. Our team is filled with passionate, creative people who are dedicated to disrupting a space that needs disrupting.

Our Co-Founders, Navneet and Tommy, bet big on the opportunities nobody else can see. Their last startup, Shopular, was backed by Y Combinator and Sequoia, and acquired by Rakuten Ebates.

Coefficient is building a remote-first company with a focus on hiring the best talent regardless of location.

What we do

Today, over a billion users worldwide leverage spreadsheets in day-to-day tasks. However, spreadsheet technology has not changed much in the past 30 years.

That’s where Coefficient comes in.

Our solution connects, automates, and shares live data in Google Sheets, so your reports, dashboards, and insights always stay up-to-date. Connect Google Sheets to any source system in a single click.

Coefficient completes the missing link in the modern data stack. With Coefficient, business users can access and analyze the data they need, when they need it, in the spreadsheet platform they prefer.

Now any team member can harness a new category of spreadsheets to unlock more opportunities with their data.

Overview

We’re looking for a community and content manager with 4+ years of experience to join our team. If you are a tech-savvy professional, experienced in social media, community management, and video+ content creation within the B2B software industry, this is the role for you.

Our ideal candidate has exceptional oral and written communication skills and is able to develop engaging content, both written and video. You should be a ‘people person’ with great “user love” skills and the ability to moderate online and offline conversations with our community.

Ultimately, you should be able to act as the face and voice of our brand and manage all community communications.

You’ll collaborate with the marketing and product teams to produce engaging content that inspires our community with use cases and results.

Responsibilities
  • Create and publish social media and user community content to align with our overall marketing strategy.
  • Provide engaging text, image and video content for organic and paid social media accounts and community channels – working hand in hand with our designer to produce templates that enable you to do your best work.
  • Plan and host user webinars / sessions to promote their work and the types of things they're building with Coefficient.
  • Build and nurture relationships with customers, potential customers, and industry professionals.
  • Respond to comments, customer queries, feedback, and online reviews in a timely manner.
  • Build and execute an employee advocacy strategy from start to finish.
  • Identify virtual events that key internal stakeholders can be involved in to build community and boost brand awareness.
  • Stay up-to-date with technology and social trends.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • You have 4+ years proven work experience as a community/social media manager or content manager, preferably within the B2B space. BONUS points if you have data or builder tool experience.
  • You’re a natural creator and have experience creating both static and video content.
  • You have experience identifying and tracking relevant community metrics.
  • You have experience launching community initiatives (e.g. building a user community or launching an ambassador program).
  • Your attention to detail is spot on, and you have exceptional project management and communication skills.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to multi-task when required.
  • You’d consider yourself a creative thinker and problem solver.
  • You have a passion for improving the use of technology within your role.
  • You have the ability to work remotely with little-to-no supervision.

If you consider yourself a creative, data-driven community manager looking to build a unique brand online, apply even if you don’t meet 100% of the above requirements.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
