SailPoint is looking for a passionate and skilled Technical Advocate to join our Community and Education team. In this strategic role, you will be at the forefront of educating and empowering the SailPoint Communitycomprising customers, partners, and the broader ecosystem—utilizing our cutting-edge Identity Security Cloud platform. As a technical expert and community champion, your expertise will be crucial to delivering high-quality education through a variety of channels, including live community webinars, wiki articles, forum discussions, conferences, and instructor-led courses. Your ability to engage with the community and communicate complex technical concepts clearly, coupled with strong interpersonal skills, will be essential in inspiring and supporting learners from diverse backgrounds. 

You will also play an integral role in cross-functional collaboration, working closely with product teams, content development, customer success, and marketing to ensure that our educational offerings align with the latest product features and market needs. Whether you're presenting at events, leading webinars, or creating technical content, your work will have a lasting impact on the community's growth and success. Additionally, your deep technical expertise will be leveraged to help shape and update educational materials and certification exams, ensuring they are aligned with industry best practices and SailPoint's evolving solutions.

Responsibilities: 

  • Attain and maintain expert-level knowledge and certification (up to Engineer Level) in Identity Security Cloud. 

  • Participate in community advocacy efforts by sharing technical insights and best practices in identity security through technical forums, webinars, and other company-sponsored events. 

  • Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to influence the product roadmap, acting as the “voice of the community.” 

  • Deliver comprehensive, expert-led technical educational sessions on SailPoint products, covering basic, intermediate, and advanced levels tailored to diverse technical audiences, including engineers, developers, administrators, and solution architects. 

  • Collaborate with the content development team to continuously enhance and update training materials (including eLearning) and certification exams, ensuring content remains current, relevant, and aligned with the learning needs of Identity University’s diverse technical audience. 

  • Contribute to elevating SailPoint’s reputation as a thought leader in identity security. 

  • Occasionally travel to customer premises to deliver onsite training, with expected travel time less than 25%. 

Requirements: 

  • 3+ years’ experience in engaging with community advocacy initiatives, sharing technical insights and best practices through forums, webinars, and other events.  

  • Experience delivering technical education sessions to diverse technical audiences. 

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to enhance technical education materials and ensure alignment with product capabilities and customer needs. 

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and effectively. 

  • End-to-end responsibility on projects of increasing complexity. 

  • Persistent and creative in the face of roadblocks and takes proactive initiative to solve problems. 

Preferred: 

  • SailPoint Certified Professional or Engineer. Certification can be pursued after hiring as part of your professional development. 

  • Practical experience in identity security, information technology, or a related technical field. 

  • Experience collaborating and engaging with professional communities. 

  • Experience with Java, Python or equivalent language, as well as XML, HTML, SOAP/REST APIs, JSON, Application Servers. 

  • Experience with Directories (LDAP, AD). 

  • Experience with Databases/SQL (Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, DB2). 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. 

  • Proficiency in multiple spoken languages, a plus. 

Benefits and Compensation listed vary based on the location of your employment and the nature of your employment with SailPoint.

As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the SailPoint Corporate Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission, along with potential eligibility for equity participation. SailPoint maintains broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect SailPoint’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. We estimate the base salary, for US-based employees, will be in this range from (min-mid-max, USD):

$67,200 - $96,000 - $124,800

Base salaries for employees based in other locations are competitive for the employee’s home location.
