About the Role:

We’re looking for Community Ambassadors to help support, host, and guide creators and users as Cantina continues to grow.

As a Community Ambassador, you support and elevate the Cantina experience by hosting live rooms, guiding creators through workflows, and ensuring users can engage meaningfully with the product. You play an important role in helping creators get started, answering questions in real time, and contributing to a welcoming, high-quality community environment.

This is a camera-on, mic-on role that requires comfort with live hosting, moderation, and active participation in live rooms. This is a 3-month contract role to start, with the potential to extend based on performance, availability, and evolving program needs. For this hiring round, we’re prioritizing candidates who can reliably support weekend shifts; additional weekday availability is a plus.

What You'll Do:

Host and facilitate live rooms

  • Host Cantina-owned rooms

  • Be microphone-ready and comfortable appearing on camera

  • Help guide the flow, tone, and engagement of live experiences

  • Treat each shift as an opportunity to support a high-quality, consistent experience

Support creators and users

  • Help creators onboard, build AI bots, and understand Cantina’s tools and workflows

  • Answer questions clearly and confidently in real time

  • Support creators in progressing through key moments on the platform

  • Assist creators participating in Cantina programs such as the Creator Fund and Residency

Maintain product fluency

  • Build familiarity with Cantina’s features, tools, and workflows

  • Stay up to date on new launches, updates, and changes

  • Explore and test the product regularly to better support users

  • Surface feedback, bugs, and recurring questions to internal teams

Moderate and uphold community standards

  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment

  • Help uphold Cantina’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service

  • De-escalate conflicts and escalate issues through established internal channels when needed

Contribute to community growth

  • Support events, programming, and community initiatives

  • Collaborate with Community and Marketing teams on engagement efforts

  • Stay informed on trends, internet culture, and creator behavior relevant to the platform

Weekly expectations

  • Support scheduled shifts reliably and communicate availability clearly

  • Complete assigned weekly deliverables related to hosting, creator support, or feedback gathering

  • Track time and availability using Cantina tools

What You'll Bring:

  • Comfortable hosting live on camera and microphone

  • Experience with live or social platforms such as Twitch, TikTok Live, Discord, or similar

  • Strong communicator with a friendly, approachable presence

  • Curious about AI, social platforms, and emerging creator tools

  • Able to work independently while collaborating with a distributed team

  • Organized and thoughtful about time management and boundaries

  • Able to reliably support weekend shifts; weekday availability is a plus

Nice to Have:

  • Experience moderating online communities or live chat rooms

  • Familiarity with AI or creative tools

  • Experience creating content or engaging audiences on social media

  • Experience supporting creators or users on fast-evolving platforms

Contract Details:

  • Rate: $20/hour

  • Hours: 15–40 hours per week

  • Term: Initial 3-month contract, with potential for extension

  • Availability: This role is primarily focused on weekend coverage (Saturday - Sunday), with nice-to-have availability during the week as needed

  • Location: Remote

  • Equipment: Must have access to a reliable laptop and mobile device

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
