About StudyFetch

StudyFetch is the #1 AI-native learning platform globally, transforming how millions of students learn through personalized AI-powered education. We’re growing fast with backing from top-tier investors and a mission that’s redefining the future of education and ethical learning.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Communications & PR Lead to own and build StudyFetch’s communications strategy from the ground up. You’ll be responsible for shaping the company’s public voice, securing high-impact media coverage, and crafting narratives that amplify our mission across tech, education, and culture. This role blends storytelling and strategy; from writing press releases and founder op-eds to managing media relationships and preparing executives for interviews. You’ll collaborate closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure every message reflects our brand, values, and vision. As the first dedicated communication hire, you’ll have the autonomy to define our PR function, experiment with new storytelling angles, and play a visible role in elevating one of the fastest-growing education startups in the world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and execute StudyFetch’s communication and PR strategy; securing earned media across tech, education, and culture outlets

  • Proactively pitch stories and manage relationships with journalists, editors, and podcast/booker teams

  • Write press releases, launch narratives, and thought-leadership content that position StudyFetch as an industry leader

  • Write founder communications, including op-eds, LinkedIn/X posts, and speaking remarks

  • Maintain a unified brand voice across website, newsletters, and product announcements

  • Develop talking points, media briefs, and prep materials for executive interviews and events

  • Identify and develop storytelling opportunities around StudyFetch’s users, culture, and product milestones

  • Support crisis communications and reactive media responses with clarity and judgment

What We’re Looking For

  • 5-8 years of experience in communications, PR, editorial, or brand writing (startup or agency background preferred)

  • Proven ability to secure earned media; please include clips or campaign examples

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills; able to simplify complex topics and craft compelling stories

  • Experience ghost writing or shaping the voice of executives or brands

  • Deep understanding of internet culture, academia, and Gen Z tone dynamics

  • Highly organized, proactive, and confident operating independently in a fast-moving environment

What We Offer

  • $95,000 - $120,000 Base Salary

  • 100% employer paid Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance

  • 75% dependent coverage

  • A high-growth, mission-driven team focused on transforming how students learn

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
