Job Description

As an Internal Communications Manager, you will play a crucial role in engaging, educating, and inspiring Nordstrom’s network of over 55,000 employees. This role will focus on supporting Nordstrom store employees, partnering closely with stores leadership, HR, and business operations to deliver thoughtful, creative, and comprehensive communication programs that better connect Nordstrom stores to the company’s key priorities. Effective programs will strengthen our employees’ connection to the business, support our culture, empower employees to be more successful in their roles serving customers, and enhance our ability to attract and retain top talent. 

A Day in the Life: 

  • Develop and implement engaging communications programs in support of Nordstrom’s business rhythms, key priorities, change management initiatives, and employee programs and events. 

  • Craft compelling content that drives employee connection to Nordstrom’s purpose, strategic vision, and ways of working, fostering a sense of belonging and engagement. 

  • Provide expert advice and counsel to senior leaders and subject matter experts on communication best practices and approaches. 

  • Utilize a strong understanding of organizational communication needs, including structure and audience profiles, to determine the appropriate channel, medium, and distribution approach for communication. 

  • Create and edit engaging content for a variety of communication channels, including email, intranet, video, live events, and other digital platforms. 

 

You Own This If You Have: 

  • 5-7 years of experience in communications. 

  • A proactive and strategic mindset, with a willingness to learn and adapt. 

  • The ability to manage complex projects with multiple partners and deadlines, demonstrating strong organizational skills. 

  • A solid understanding of Nordstrom's voice and culture. 

  • A passion for fostering employee engagement. 

  • Demonstrated experience with various communication channels (e.g., intranet, email, video, employee events). 

  • Knowledge of internal communication best practices. 

  • Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills. 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Washington: $80,000 - $155,000 AnnuallyThis position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
