Our team’s mission is to build a world-class Finance organization that can support our growing business with exceptional support and best-in-class processes and standards. We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Commissions Analyst to manage and optimize our incentive compensation processes. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with CaptivateIQ, a strong understanding of sales compensation structures, and the ability to translate data into actionable insights. You will play a critical role in ensuring timely, accurate, and transparent commission payments while supporting cross-functional teams such as Sales, Finance, and HR. This is a perfect role for a strong problem solver who can balance the daily tasks of commissions with constant process improvement, changing business needs, and analytical projects in a fast-paced startup environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Commission Calculations: Accurately calculate monthly, quarterly, and annual commissions using CaptivateIQ in alignment with compensation plans.

  • System Management: Own and maintain the CaptivateIQ platform, including building workflows, managing plan logic, and ensuring data integrity.

  • Plan Implementation: Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Finance, and HR to design, document, and roll out new and existing compensation plans.

  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze commission trends and discrepancies, prepare reports and dashboards for leadership, and provide data-driven insights.

  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure commission processes comply with internal policies and requirements. Maintain clear documentation and audit trails.

  • Stakeholder Support: Act as a point of contact for sales team members regarding compensation-related inquiries, resolving issues promptly and professionally.

  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve commission workflows, automation, and accuracy through best practices and system capabilities.

  • Other Ad Hoc Duties As Assigned: There is always room for growth and learning at BetterUp, and you may be added to projects and tasks outside the commissions scope as part of your role.

If You Have Some or All of the Following, Please Apply:

  • 3+ years of experience in a commissions role.

  • 1+ year of hands-on experience administering CaptivateIQ.

  • Proven experience designing and implementing compensation plans that align with incentive compensation best practices.

  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets (pivot tables, vlookups, etc.).

  • Familiarity with Salesforce and CRM data structures.

  • Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills for frequent interaction with financial and non-financial management.

  • Ability to work at a detailed level and also to interact effectively with all levels within the organization.

  • A highly productive self-starter with a very strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.

  • Strong accountability and detail oriented; prepares accurate and timely work products.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

  • Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team setting.

  • Experience in SaaS or tech industry.

At BetterUp, we compensate our employees fairly for their work. Base salary is determined by job-related experience, education/training, residence location, as well as market indicators. The range below is representative of base salary only and does not include equity, sales bonus plans (when applicable) and benefits. This range may be modified in the future.

The base salary range for this role is $83,000– $143,200.

If you live in New York, the base salary range for this role is: 
$95,000 – $143,200: New York City
$83,000 – $125,200: Albany, Buffalo, Nassau, Newburgh, Rochester, Syracuse
