About the Role

We are seeking a driven and results-oriented Commercial Sales Representative to focus on growing our client base among technology companies in California and the Bay Area. This role is ideal for a strategic seller who understands the tech landscape and can navigate complex enterprise sales cycles. Our platforms combine natural language processing, text analytics, name matching for fraud prevention, open-source intelligence (OSINT), and enterprise data aggregation to deliver actionable insights across multiple use cases.

You will play a key role in expanding our commercial footprint by identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities. This position requires a blend of consultative sales skills, technical fluency, and a deep understanding of enterprise challenges in the tech sector.

What You’ll Do:

  • Prospect & Develop: Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads across the Bay Area and greater California tech ecosystem.
  • Consultative Selling: Understand client business challenges and position our solutions effectively—particularly in areas like fraud detection, OSINT, and enterprise data intelligence.
  • Strategic Account Growth: Develop account plans, identify cross-selling opportunities, and expand relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Present & Demonstrate: Deliver compelling product demonstrations and communicate the value proposition of our platform in addressing specific business use cases.
  • Close New Business: Manage the end-to-end sales process—from first contact through contract negotiation and signature.
  • Market Awareness: Stay informed on industry trends, competitors, and evolving customer needs to inform strategy and messaging.
  • Collaborate Internally: Work closely with marketing, product, legal, and customer success teams to deliver a seamless customer experience.
  • Territory Focus: Concentrate efforts on mid-market and enterprise tech companies headquartered in California, with a focus on the Bay Area.

What You Will Bring:

  • 5–10 years of B2B sales experience, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding quota in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience selling technology-driven solutions to enterprise clients, ideally in sectors like data analytics, AI/ML, cybersecurity, or fraud prevention.
  • Strong understanding of sales cycles within tech companies—from startups to mid-sized enterprises.
  • Ability to translate technical capabilities (e.g., NLP, OSINT, data matching) into business value for various departments (e.g., fraud, compliance, product, risk).
  • Comfortable selling into and building relationships with C-level executives, data teams, and security professionals.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and managing a dynamic sales pipeline.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentations.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and entrepreneurial, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Based in or near California, with preference for those local to the Bay Area.

Preferred But Not Required

  • Familiarity with open-source intelligence (OSINT) or data privacy/compliance markets.
  • Experience working with or selling APIs, NLP solutions, or enterprise data tools.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
