The Commercial Operations Director will lead the Commercial Operations LATAM regional teams in both the North and South cones, responsible for proposal generation, ITO risk mitigation and efficient functioning of all commercial operations processes.
The Commercial Operations Director will manage the R-Process, Policy 5.0 compliance, proposal quoting and generation, contract negotiation including Master Agreements and MMPs, and R3 turnover processes for all Transactional Services offerings in the assigned Pole/subregion. These include Upgrades, Field Services, MMP’s, Complex Upgrade packages, CS extra work, digital and cyber quote support where needed – for Gas Turbine, Generators, Combined Cycle Steam Turbine & HRSG installed base.Job Description
What you’ll do
Provide major influence on LATAM ITR Regional business unit by underwriting all ITO new deals to achieve Budget for TX and MYA Extra Work.
Responsible for effectively leading a large Commercial Operations team comprised of eight lead professionals and four senior professional direct reports.
Responsible for guiding and influencing functional policy (Policy 5.0 for underwriting new ITO), regional concession requests, and controlling regional DOA and deal reviews.
Responsible for communicating complex messaging and negotiating both internally and externally to influence deal strategy. Responsible for leading complex contract negotiations of MMPs, Master Agreements and transactional contracts within assigned Regions.
Responsible for thought leadership and bringing deep commercial deal-making expertise with the function and by collaborating closely with HQ and the ITR regional leadership.
Responsible deep partnership with Region ITR teams to achieve financial orders, sales, cash, and margin targets.
Responsible for driving LEAN strategy across the assigned Regions through effectively principles of Standard Work, Daily Management, Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement to achieve best in class commercial performance.
Responsible for balancing and proactively assigning resources across the assigned Regions to ensure optimum support and efficiency.
Responsible for attracting and retaining commercial talent across the assigned Regions.
Responsible for running an efficient, consistent, and compliant Policy 5.0 risk management process across the assigned Regions starting from deal screening (R0), resource allocation (R1), deal reviews (R2), and contract hand over (R3).
Responsible for anticipating and driving commercial strategy discussions for ITO deals within the assigned Regions.
Responsible for ensuring the development of on time, high quality commercial proposals, that provide technical and commercial solutions that meet both customer and GEV’s requirements and business goals, working in partnership with the sales team and stakeholders/subject matter experts from operations, pricing, supply chain, engineering, legal and other functional support teams as required.
Responsible for governance of signature authority and legal entity within the assigned Regions
Responsible for driving quality initiatives across the assigned Regions that mitigate downstream (a) margin erosion, (b) cost-of-quality arising from inaccurate scope definition and costing, and (c) handover incompleteness during the R3 process and advance release process.
Responsible for providing coaching, mentoring, skill-up and appropriate training & development opportunities for commercial team members across the assigned Regions.

- ITO Quality (proposal and contract quality, margin erosion, cost of quality, documentation)
- Compliance with Policy 5.0
- ITO speed of responsiveness (R1 responsiveness, OTD of proposals, throughput, R3 responsiveness to hand off)
- ITO efficiency (conversion rate, win rate, hit rate, budgetary / indicative / qrp use rate)
- Price enhancement and realization
- Resource utilization
What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)
Major experience in GE Gas Power sales, commercial operations, engineering or execution operations
Experience in GE Gas Power commercial operations leadership
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited university or college
Deep commercial experience and customer relationships across LATAM regions
