Role Overview:

We are hiring a Commercial Operations Contract Lead to drive customer contracting, customer onboarding, and NDA management as we scale Evolver's customer base. This role sits at the intersection of commercial operations, legal, and sales, applying strong contractual judgment to move deals from negotiation through signature while protecting the company's commercial, legal and risk interests.

The ideal candidate is based in the US Eastern time zone and brings a background in commercial operations, deal desk, procurement, or legal practice, with deep experience in contract negotiation and drafting. This person will partner directly with the Chief Procurement and Commercial Operations Officer (CPCOO) to drive customer contracting strategy and support the full commercial lifecycle from initial engagement through contract execution.

This is a fully remote, individual contributor role that operates with significant autonomy. The person in this role will lead customer contract negotiations, manage NDAs, and complete customer onboarding processes (representing Evolver as vendor to its customers), support RFP/RFI response processes, and provide input to product and engineering teams on Evolver's procurement products and internally built commercial operations tools. Success requires comfort operating in ambiguity, strong contractual judgment, and the ability to balance commercial objectives against legal and operational risk. Occasional travel for team meetings and customer engagements is expected.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end customer contracting, including drafting, redlining, and negotiating customer agreements (MSAs, SOWs, order forms, amendments) from initial terms through execution
  • Exercise direct negotiation authority on contract terms, balancing commercial objectives with legal and operational risk
  • Manage and respond to customer-issued vendor onboarding requirements, including security questionnaires, due diligence requests, and vendor risk assessments, representing Evolver as vendor to its customers
  • Negotiate and manage NDAs across prospective customer relationships
  • Support customer RFP and RFI processes end-to-end, including coordination across deal teams, response drafting, and submission delivery
  • Own governance for customer contracts, ensuring required approvals are secured prior to execution
  • Serve as a central point of contact for cross-functional stakeholders (Legal, Sales, Product, Engineering, Delivery) on contract and commercial matters
  • Provide input to product and engineering teams on Evolver's internally developed commercial operations tools (CRM, contract tracker, RFP tool), reflecting real-world contracting and deal desk needs
  • Maintain accurate and current records of contract status, terms, and obligations within Evolver's contract tracking systems
  • Partner with the Chief Procurement and Commercial Operations Officer (CPCOO) to prioritize contracting workstreams based on business impact and customer needs

Qualifications:

  • 10 - 15 years of experience in commercial operations, contract management, deal desk, procurement, or legal roles, with strong exposure to customer contracting and negotiation
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating and redlining commercial agreements (MSAs, SOWs, order forms)
  • Experience supporting or leading vendor onboarding processes, including responding to customer due diligence and security questionnaires
  • Proven track record supporting RFP/RFI processes, including proposal coordination and submission or managing RFPs from a procurement perspective
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous, high-growth, or rapidly evolving environments
  • Experience engaging with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams

Skills & Capabilities:

  • Strong contractual and negotiation judgment, with the ability to balance commercial objectives and risk in a fast-paced, rapidly scaling environment
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple contracts and deal processes simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to operate effectively across technical and non-technical teams
  • Comfortable working independently as an individual contributor with significant autonomy
  • Technology-forward mindset with a willingness to work closely with product and engineering teams to shape internal tools
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for team meetings and customer engagements

Benefits

Flexible Work Arrangements: Fully remote working model for work-life balance.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
