- Identify and pursue profitable customer opportunities through RFP and non-RFP channels.
- Build and maintain relationships across the transportation, fuel, and freight industries.
- Maintain an active presence at key industry events and associations to drive lead generation.
- Leverage internal relationships across USV to uncover new business connections.
- Routinely discuss pipeline with internal teams to develop situational strategies for active and upcoming bids.
- Execute the full bid process: vetting opportunities, building freight opportunities + pricing, and submitting competitive offers.
- Ensure bids include primary, secondary, and tertiary sourcing options for fuel and freight.
- Strategically bundle fuel and freight to meet margin targets and win business.
- Proactively identify and pursue contract renewal opportunities.
- Transition operational responsibilities of secured contracts to Customer Service.
- Achieve assigned EBITDA contribution goals and other performance metrics.
- Track and manage costs to ensure profitable margin contribution.
- Maintain and update sales pipeline and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) to monitor progress and performance.
- Stay informed on industry trends and competitive intelligence.
- Share insights with strategy, marketing, and other relevant teams.
- Actively seek acquisition partners to expand capabilities and market reach.

Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of sales experience in the fuel industry, with a focus on end-user sales.
- This position requires approximately 60% travel, which may include overnight and extended trips. Travel frequency will vary based on customer needs, project demands, and industry events. Candidates must be comfortable with a dynamic travel schedule and able to adapt to changing priorities.
- Proven success in originating new customers through RFP and non-RFP channels.
- Experience using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) to manage sales pipelines.
- Strong understanding of pricing strategies and margin management.
- Established relationships within the transportation industry; fuel and freight vendor relationships preferred.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Highly motivated with strong schedule management and independent work ethic.
- Creative problem-solving abilities and a drive to exceed performance metrics.
