We are looking for a junior associate to join our Commercial Finance Group in Los Angeles. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience, preferably with a finance practice at an Am Law 100 or 200 firm. Candidates should have experience with secured lending transactions and familiarity with UCC Article 9. Experience representing lenders and borrowers in middle market financing transactions is highly preferred. The ideal candidate will also have strong drafting, organizational, analytical, and communication skills and the ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines effectively. Candidates should also be licensed to practice in California. 

Buchalter’s Commercial Finance attorneys represent a broad range of lenders and borrowers in sophisticated commercial lending and corporate finance transactions. Our clients include commercial banks, commercial finance companies, private debt and private equity groups, investors and other lenders, as well as borrowers across a variety of industries. The group handles financing transactions ranging from middle market to investment grade credits and works across a wide range of debt financing structures, including senior secured and syndicated credit facilities, asset based loans, acquisition financings, working capital facilities, leveraged loans, and other commercial lending transactions.

This position provides an opportunity to work closely with experienced attorneys on sophisticated financing matters while developing a strong foundation in commercial finance. The associate will assist with drafting and reviewing financing documents, conducting due diligence, coordinating transaction closings, and supporting attorneys throughout all stages of a financing transaction. We are looking for someone who is detail oriented, organized, responsive, and interested in continuing to develop their commercial finance practice.

Compensation: The reasonably expected pay scale for this position is $160 - 220k per year. This is an employer estimate and the salary offered within that range will depend on the candidate’s years of practice, relevant experience, and performance. Additionally, this position is eligible for annual performance bonuses based on productivity.
