The Commercial Data Science Manager is responsible for building, implementing, and maintaining OneStream-driven capabilities across our current and future-state forecasting and reporting processes within the Commercial FP&A team. The role bridges finance strategy and technology — partnering with FP&A to enhance OneStream's system capabilities, while using OneStream-driven reporting to deliver actionable insights to FP&A and the wider business.

Sitting within the Commercial FP&A team, you will collaborate closely with FP&A, global data teams, Finance Transformation, and external implementation partners to optimize application performance, automate processes, and expand system capabilities — delivering scalable reporting, planning, and forecasting solutions.

What You’ll do

  • Support roll out and implementation of OneStream SensibleAI demand planning (forecast) model
  • Partner with OneStream Admin & Implementation partners to build and implement additional features to existing demand planning model to drive continuous improvement
  • Build and maintain OS driven suite of reports (Cube view, dynamic reporting, quick view) for commercial reporting and analysis.
  • Analyse and report on OS dashboarding to support business insights
  • Own and maintain volume reconciliations between OneStream & other commercial reporting systems
  • Support month end reporting via OS suite of reports
  • Assist in data improvement projects to drive improvement in FP&A volume reporting
  • Drive platform optimization, monitoring calculation health checks and troubleshooting performance bottlenecks.
  • Work with OneStream Administration team to drive Genesis certification and super user training for the team and reduce long-term dependency on external implementation partners by building internal capability and architectural knowledge.
  • Evaluate opportunities to apply AI and automation to existing FP&A processes

What We're Looking For

  • Onestream Certified specialist – Reports and Dashboards. Minimum 2 years experience or more in OS. This is a must have.
  • Project management certifications (Agile/PMP) are a plus.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline (essential).
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience working with Enterprise Performance Management (EPM/CPM) systems, with a minimum of 2 years hands-on OneStream development and architecture experience.
  • Strong proficiency in VB.NET or C# scripting for business rules, along with advanced relational database skills (SQL Server).
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to lead requirement-gathering workshops and translate complex business requirements into clear technical plans.
  • Experience working in or with FP&A or financial reporting functions, providing context for the business use of the platform.
  • Proven ability to translate complex financial data into clear, compelling visual narratives
  • Experience with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau is a plus, supporting the development of interactive dashboards and self-service reporting beyond OneStream's native capabilities.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
