Job Description:About the Role:

As Commercial Account Manager - Inside Sales for Dow Jones Energy, you will prospect within your assigned account base, discuss value propositions with clients, and build relationships. You will manage the entire sales cycle for new business opportunities and renewals. You will also ensure clients’ satisfaction and maximum return on their investment in Dow Jones Energy. You will report to the Director - Inside Sales.

Our offerings support institutional investors, analysts, and traders navigating spot, wholesale, and retail markets, as well as emerging segments tied to the global energy transition.

Through authoritative data, real-time intelligence, and deep market expertise, Dow Jones Energy enables financial professionals to mitigate risk and make high-stakes commercial decisions in volatile, fast-evolving global markets.

You Will:
  • Develop an understanding of the sales value proposition for Dow Jones Energy  products and how they align with the business requirements of our clients

  • Initiate and answer sales calls for Dow Jones Energy products and services

  • Analyze business opportunities, develop effective sales strategies, and close business

  • Develop account and territory plans to achieve penetration and grow revenue

  • Achieve specific monthly, quarterly and annual sales quota

  • Conduct telephone conversations to identify and qualify upsell/cross-sell opportunities and record sales prospecting activity in the CRM system 

  • Proactively manage the renewal process and incoming inquiries across the assigned book of business

  • Maintain the existing client base with a focus on account retention

  • Prepare and submit accurate sales reporting and forecasting

  • Generate referrals and new business leads within assigned accounts

You Have:
  •  2-3 years’ experience managing the entire sales cycle for renewals and new business opportunities 

  • Knowledge of and genuine interest in the Energy industry

  • Experience in selling information services or software solutions

  • Motivation to learn about the Dow Jones Energy value proposition and the specific value propositions for the Energy portfolio

  • Working knowledge of business economics and comfortability discussing value propositions with customers

  • Knowledge of contract and proposal processes

  • Strong closing and negotiation skills

  • A track record of successfully growing accounts in an account management role

  • Ability to learn new solutions, sales processes, and systems quickly

  • Bachelor’s Degree -OR- equivalent work experience

Base Pay Range: $60,000 - $75,000
