Organization & Team Overview
Xumo, a joint venture between Comcast and Charter, was formed to develop and offer a next generation streaming platform on a variety of branded 4K streaming devices and smart TVs. Powered by Comcast’s global technology platform, Xumo devices and services feature an entertainment experience designed to make it easy for consumers to find and enjoy their favorite streaming content through a world-class user interface and voice search, and for partners to meaningfully connect and engage with millions of consumers.
Our engineering team develop our free ad-supported service that currently delivers more than 200 unique streaming channels and features hundreds of free content choices on our own Xumo platform as well as leading streaming platforms such as YouTube, Amazon, Apple, Google, Roku and smart TV manufacturers such as Samsung, Vizio, LG, Sony.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Collaborating with team leads to identify and define product and technical requirements.
- Research and development on assigned topic and present findings and designs.
- Working with other team members to design new software and web applications, support applications under development and customize current applications.
- Participate in code review and provide feedback.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity in common programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript
- Interest in cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, CGP) and containerization technologies such as docker or Kubernetes
- Curiosity about video and streaming technologies including HLS and DASH
- Comfortable with conducting independent research and development
- Strong organizational and communication skills and comfortable presenting your finding and designs to the team and senior leaderships
- Preferred Majors: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering
Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from a United States-based college or university
- Rising Junior or Rising Senior only (must have a graduation date between Winter 2026- Spring 2028)
- Returning to degree-program (for at least a semester) after the completion of the summer internship (meaning, student must be returning to school for Fall 2026 semester before graduating)
- Available to work 40 hours per week over the course of the summer program starting June 1, 2026, through August 14, 2026
- Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs
- Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting (unless virtual offering)

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Comcast provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a Commission under the terms of an applicable plan, while most non-sales positions are eligible for a Bonus.
