Leidos is seeking a Cognos Administrator & Developer who is motivated by variety, is seeking a challenging environment for professional growth, and is interested in supporting an Investor-Owned Utility client headquartered in New Orleans, Louisiana. Leidos has a long-term customer who we have supported in all areas of IT operations since the client’s first outsourcing engagement over 20 years ago.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated, responsible, and detailed oriented to support existing Cognos Analytics version 11.x and Business Objects 4.x environments. They will be part of a team supporting a long-term program for an Investor-Owned Utility client. The position requires working directly with client customers to provide world-class application support for multiple utility

company applications.

Note: On call rotation and evening/weekend work may be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the installation, configuration, and support of Cognos Analytics Software
  • Administer Cognos environments including security, deployment, and configuration
    • Performance Tuning of the Cognos environment
    • Server configuration (architecture and design),
    • Security hardening (ex. permissions for users, security vulnerabilities, managing capabilities for license types)
    • Software installation and managing upgrades
    • Cognos specific reporting capabilities
    • Troubleshooting report issues
    • Framework design
    • SSO integration support
  • Manage Cognos servers, services, patches, and upgrades.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain Cognos reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions.
  • Create and maintain Framework Manager models.
  • Optimize report performance and troubleshoot issues across environments.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Perform QA, testing, and production migrations following best practices.
  • Document designs, processes, and system configurations.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar degree with a minimum 3+ years of support work for Cognos. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience administering Cognos environments (user management, deployments, configuration).
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in BI administrative roles
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in Cognos programs (Report Studio, Analysis Studio, Framework Manager, Cognos Connection) version 11.x.
  • Experience with Oracle and MS SQL database management as it relates to the reporting systems.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and BI best practices.
  • Experience with Windows 2019+ Server management/configuration.
  • Must have experience in analyzing, developing, testing, and deploying software solutions
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex reporting and system issues.
  • Strong communication (written and oral), documentation skills and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast, paced environment and perform duties without direct supervision.
  • Possess the ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with others
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks to ensure project deadlines are met
  • Proficiency with all or some of the following: MS Office Suite including Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Visio

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with ServiceNOW (SNOW) is a plus

Pay Range:Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
