Job Description
The Coding Quality Analyst performs regular audits on charts as they are originally coded. This includes review of applicable billing screens, charts, correspondence, or other documentation. The Coding Quality Analyst performs audits on internal processes to ensure departmental quality metrics are met.Location: Remote
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Audit completed tasks for accurate coding and billing data, appropriate actions and notation.
- Audit pre-bill charts for accurate entry of CPT/ICD-10 assignment and other coder e-form entries, ensure that coding guidelines and processes were followed.
- Perform focused audits as assigned.
- Resolve issues by communicating with other department personnel.
- Analyze audit data and results.
- Provide detailed audit feedback to ensure understanding of error(s) identified.
- Maintains knowledge of current coding guidelines and regulations relevant to the industry.
- Performs and assists with other department duties as needed including but not limited to attending and/or presenting at department meetings and training sessions, reading department literature, and other special projects.
- Audit internal processes as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Expertise in CPT and ICD-10 coding.
- Knowledge of coding guidelines and requirements.
- Knowledge of and skill in using personal computers and terminals in a Windows environment.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail.
- Ability to identify, research and solve problems and discrepancies.
- Ability to communicate with coworkers and management in a courteous and professional manner.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to process assigned duties in an organized manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing.
- Ability to work overtime when needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Coding certification as required by USACS compliance plan
- At least one year of experience in an USACS homecoder position, with a demonstrated knowledge of industry guidelines and regulations
- Must be currently meeting all quality standards.
Hourly Rate: $24.83-$45.93
Hourly rate may be determined on several factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, experience, education, geographical location and requirements stated in job description.
