Stantec Consulting Services Inc. seeks a driven Coastal Engineering Project Manager/Senior Coastal Engineer to join our rapidly growing Coastal Engineering Solutions Practice. The successful candidate will be a leader and proven project manager with coastal experience. The location is Florida (Tampa preferred). Other office locations, as well as flexible office schedules, will be considered for the right driven candidate. The Coastal Engineering Solutions Practice leads and supports a wide variety of coastal work across the globe. Candidates are expected to lead our coastal services growth in the region and be an expert in the following areas:

  • Natural Hazards and Coastal Risk
  • Coastal Hydrodynamics and Morphology
  • Coastal Zone Management, Environmental Restoration, and Enhancement
  • Climate Change, Resilience Planning, and Sea Level Rise Impacts
  • Coastal Engineering Design
  • Construction oversight of coastal type projects

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated high level of understanding coastal zone management, resilience planning, and related fields.
  • Provides a high-level project management and leadership overseeing on-going projects throughout U.S. and potentially Canada.
  • Prepares scope and fee estimates for clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete complex projects located in coastal environments.
  • Provide team leadership at a program and project level and working with other staff to complete projects.
  • Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates detailed phases of the coastal work in coastal/estuarine/marine related projects.
  • Prepares cost and project estimates, and schedules.
  • Prepares or oversees the preparation of final documents/reports.
  • Preparation of proposals and marketing efforts.
  • Provide construction management and administrative services.
  • Oversees and mentors personnel involved in coastal investigations and planning work.
  • Coordinates work with other coastal professionals within and outside own discipline, and with support services staff.
  • Communicates effectively and applies with a high level of understanding the coastal zone management practices. 
Qualifications

Your Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to conduct effective client and agency presentations and written report preparation.
  • Current registration as Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Science Professional.
  • ACOPNE Certification
  • Diplomat in Coastal Port, Ocean and/or Navigation Engineering.
  • Demonstrated project experience through professional publications and presentations.
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of the Coastal Zone Management market and future trends to assist in expanding the Coastal Practice.

Education and Experience

  • Master of Science degree in Science or Engineering with 7+ years of experience with the subject matter focus on one of the areas of expertise listed above. OR
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Science or Engineering with 10+ years of experience in one of the areas of expertise listed above. 

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

About the Team
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
