The Coach at Sage Hill School develops and leads athletic programs, teaches skills, monitors performance, manages facilities, and addresses parent concerns.
A Coach at Sage Hill School is responsible for developing and leading their respective program while supporting and upholding the School’s mission. A Coach must motivate, instruct and provide feedback to student athletes in an effort to improve both individual and team performance.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Teach relevant skills, tactics and techniques consistent with Sage Hill School values
- Monitor and enhance performance by providing feedback to student athletes
- Manage and maintain facilities and equipment related to the program
- Follow all NFHS and CIF rules and regulations related to the program
- Handle parent concerns related to the program
- Attend all pertinent CIF, League and Sage Hill meetings pertaining to Athletics
- Other duties as delegated by the Director of Athletics
- Experience as a coach preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong conflict resolution
- Excellent collegiality, professionalism and organizational ability
- Superior oral and written communication skills
- Strong understanding of the culture and goals of independent schools
- Ability to work well with teenagers and their parents
- Ability to use sound judgment and work independently
