The CNC team is part of the Development Manufacturing organization, providing in-house prototype manufacturing support for high-profile programs. Our projects often require close collaboration with engineering teams and have mission-critical lead times. Our shop spaces are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and highly skilled talent to ensure successful outcomes. We specialize in low-volume, prototype, and development work.
ABOUT THE JOB
We are looking for a CNC Programmer to join our rapidly growing team in Costa Mesa, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for project ownership and programming, but also set-up and operation of 5-axis CNC machines as needed.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Read and interpret technical blueprints and design models.
- Program, set up, and operate CNC multi-axis milling and turning machines.
- Design, spec out, and implement various work holding and fixture methods.
- Troubleshoot issues and make adjustments during the manufacturing process.
- Perform quality control checks during and at the completion of the manufacturing process.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience as a programmer using CAM software such as Esprit or hyperMill (willing to train).
- 5+ years of experience as a machine setup/operator.
- Clear understanding of G and M code.
- High level of familiarity with multi-axis and 3D machining.
- Experience with 5-axis milling, live tooling lathes, mill-turns, and/or multi-task machines.
- Experience with Fanuc, Siemens, or Brother controls.
- High level of familiarity with various alloys, metals, and plastics.
- High level of tooling and fixture experience.
- High level of GD&T knowledge.
- Ability to take ownership of the entire manufacturing process from start to finish.
- Ability to adapt between R&D and short production.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Esprit or hyperMill CAM experience.
- Experience with 5-axis simultaneous programming.
- Experience with Siemens NX CAD (Teamcenter).
