SUMMARY: 

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for our 1st shift based in Brea, CA location. Operate the CNC machine in the most efficient manner possible by assuring that material, tooling, cutters, NC Programs and equipment are ready for use. Coordinate product flow with Management to support Customer demand. Work with NC Programmers to coordinate set-ups and manufacture of product. The CNC machinist must be able to explain the respective role within the QMS and how their role contributes to quality. The CNC machinist shall contribute to product conformity as apart to their daily job function and shall contribute to product safety.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Maintain and Realize AS 9100 procedures and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Keep the CNC clean and general maintenance up to date.
  • Keep machine fixtures clean and stored properly.
  • Work with Management to prioritize machine schedule.
  • Work with programmers in order to minimize set-up and manufacture time.
  • Order cutters and tooling as required to support manufacturing.
  •  Operate the CNC.
  • Report to Management recommendations and / or concerns that will affect quality or time management.
  • Must understand how customer products are impacted in the event of failure.
  • Any other duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Must be detail oriented, extremely organized, have excellent communication skills and be able to interact well with all levels of Management.
  • Must have experience with Siemens 840D and Fanuc 31i – B5 Controls.
  • Must have excellent blueprint interpretation skills.
  • Must have thorough understanding of machine set-ups, tooling, and cutters.
  • Must have direct communication with internal customers.
  • Must be trained of applicable changes & customer requirements.
  • Must know the QMS basic system of reporting, record keeping and follow instructions.

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 

  • High school graduate or equivalent work experience.
  • Adequate years of operating CNC equipment determined by Karman.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  

  • Constant standing/walking/sitting for at least 8 hours. 
  • Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying up to 50 lbs, minimum 35 lbs. 
  • Sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment. 
  • Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less. Corrective lenses may be worn to fulfill requirement. 
  • Prolonged periods of repetitive movement are required.  
  • Constant holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with the hand(s). 
  • Occasional extending of arms to reach overhead, at shoulder level and below shoulder level. 

  

     TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:  

  • No travel is required for this position.
