Hadrian – Manufacturing the Future

Hadrian is building autonomous factories that help aerospace and defense companies manufacture rockets, satellites, jets, and ships up to 10x faster and up to 2x cheaper. By combining advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing, we are reinventing how America produces its most critical parts.

We recently raised $260 million dollar Series C to accelerate this mission. We are excited to be launching a new Factory in Mesa, Arizona, a 270,000 square foot facility that will create 350 new jobs immediately. We are opening a new headquarters to support thousands of future hires, launching Hadrian Maritime to serve naval production, and introducing a Factory-as-a-Service model that delivers complete systems instead of individual parts.

Hadrian works with startups, Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers, and major defense contractors across space, shipbuilding, and aviation to scale production, reduce costs, and accelerate delivery on mission-critical programs. We are backed by leading investors including Lux Capital, Founders Fund, and Andreessen Horowitz. Our fast-growing team is united by a shared mission to reindustrialize American manufacturing for the 21st century and beyond!

The Role

As CMM Programming Manager, you will own and elevate Hadrian’s CMM programming function—driving rigorous standards, automating inspection workflows, and delivering first-time-right programs that keep production moving fast while scaling seamlessly to future factories.

What You'll Do

Team Leadership & Development

  • Hire, coach, and mentor CMM programmers, setting clear growth paths and performance expectations.

  • Run effective stand-ups, 1:1s, and provide clear expectations and assignments to the team.

Production Delivery & Throughput

  • Deliver first-time-right CMM programs at an aggressive cadence, ensuring inspection never stalls machining or assembly.

  • Unblock Remove roadblocks quickly and redistribute work when priorities shift, maintaining predictable turnaround times.

Standards & Quality Control

  • Own programming, fixturing, and probe standards; ensure every program produces unambiguous, audit-ready results.

  • Close feedback loops with QA Operations and technicians to eliminate program failures and inefficient setup processes.

Cross-Functional Partnership & Automation

  • Work shoulder-to-shoulder with CAM Programming on production approach and Automation Engineering to translate best practices into software-driven tools.

  • Provide clear, data-backed requirements that guide automation sprints and reduce manual effort.

Performance Ownership & Continuous Improvement

  • Track and publish programming cycle time, first-time-right percentage, and standards adoption.

  • Drive timely investigation, assign owners, and implement fixes immediately when metrics deviate.

Scalability & Future Factory Readiness

  • Design processes and documentation that extend smoothly to additional Hadrian factories, including potential remote-programming models.

  • Anticipate growth inflection points and plan headcount, tooling, and training needs ahead of demand.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years in manufacturing, applications, or quality engineering or manufacturing operations leadership within high-mix, low-volume production.

  • ≥ 1 year directly leading technical roles and owning throughput/quality metrics.

  • Proven record of creating or refining process standards and delivering measurable efficiency or quality improvements.

  • Comfortable collaborating with software/automation teams.

  • Decisive, data-informed leader who makes clear first principles driven decisions, assigns owners, and communicates clearly from shop floor to VP level.

  • Familiarity with AS9100 or other regulated quality systems.

What Will Set You Apart

  • Demonstrated success scaling an engineering or inspection function across multiple sites or remote contributors.

  • Experience introducing automation or scripting to eliminate manual programming steps.

  • Technical expertise to provide detailed GD&T and Inspection approach direction.

  • Technical Experience with Machined Components; hands-on CMM programming or deep GD&T knowledge is a plus, not a must.

Compensation

For this role, the target salary range is $112,000 - $156,000 (actual range may vary based on experience).

This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Benefits

  • 100% coverage of platinum medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans for employees

  • 401k

  • Relocation stipend if you’re moving from outside of LA

  • Flexible vacation policy

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
