What You’ll Do

As a CloudOps Engineer at Protera, you’ll be at the heart of ensuring our cloud environments run smoothly, securely, and efficiently. You’ll help global clients modernize their operations with cloud-first solutions while driving automation, scalability, and reliability.

Here’s a glimpse into your day-to-day:

  • Design, manage, and optimize cloud infrastructure across GCP, AWS, and Azure.
  • Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform to provision and scale resources reliably.
  • Contribute to and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments and operational workflows.
  • Plan, schedule, and execute change management processes, including OS patching and configuration updates, while ensuring compliance.
  • Automate infrastructure and configuration tasks using tools like Ansible (and/or other automation frameworks).
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to align cloud operations with business needs and improve system reliability.
  • Support Linux (especially Red Hat and SUSE) and Windows systems with strong troubleshooting and administrative skills.
  • Document processes, build runbooks, and contribute to operational excellence.
  • Provide a mature and professional customer experience by directly working with customers to set expectations, showcase solution options, and drive implementation.
  • Proactively ensure the highest level of availability for the mission critical infrastructure.
  • Review system performance and efficiency; conduct bottleneck evaluation to identify performance issues and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
Requirements

What You Bring

You’re a strong fit if you have:

  • 3–5 years of experience in CloudOps, Infrastructure, or DevOps engineering.
  • Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure automation.
  • Hands-on experience CI/CD tools (GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar).
  • Deep knowledge of Linux administration (Red Hat and/or SUSE preferred) and Windows systems.
  • Solid understanding of change management frameworks (ITIL or equivalent) and experience with ITSM tools like ServiceNow.
  • Administrative experience with one or more major cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure).
  • Understanding of Virtual Server backup and restore methodologies within GCP, AWS, Azure.
  • Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
  • Scripting proficiency in Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across networking, security, and system performance.

 Bonus Skills

  • Automation experience with Ansible (or Puppet, Chef).
  • Cloud certifications (ex. GCP Associate Cloud Engineer , AWS SysOps Administrator, Azure Administrator Associate).
  • Experience with endpoint security or vulnerability management tools (e.g., Tanium, EDR).
  • A passion for continuous improvement, automation, and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Experience with ServiceNow
  • Any background working on servers with SAP applications installed.
