Brown & Brown is seeking a Cloud Systems Engineer to join our growing team! 

 

The Cloud Systems Engineer role focuses on administering Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems, modernizing legacy applications, and implementing scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive automation, improve system reliability, and support agile development practices. 

 

How You Will Contribute: 

 

  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure in Azure and AWS, with a focus on scalability, security, and cost optimization. 

  • Support and administer Windows Server and RHEL operating systems in both cloud and on-premises environments. 

  • Lean efforts to modernize applications by migrating legacy systems and applications to cloud-native architectures and services. 

  • Collaborate with development teams in an Agile/Scrum environment to create new support CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code. 

  • Develop and maintain automation workflows using tools such as Azure DevOps, Git, Ansible, and PowerShell/Python. 

  • Create and maintain cloud architecture documentation, including diagrams and operational procedures. 

  • Monitor system performance, conduct patching and upgrades, and ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness. 

  • Participate in security reviews and implement best practices for cloud governance and compliance. 

  • Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems. 

 

Licenses and Certifications:  

 

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert 

  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Engineer (RHCE) 

  • Other relevant certifications in Cloud, DevOps, Security or Networking are a Plus 

 

Skills & Experience to Be Successful: 
 

  • 4+ years of overall Cloud Systems or DevOps experience 

  • 5+ years of hands-on Windows operating systems engineering and troubleshooting in virtualized environments 

  • 3+ years in Linux (RedHat, Centos, Ubuntu) 

  • 3+ years in Cloud Environments (Azure) 

  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including DNS, firewalls, load balancing. 

  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions and configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet) 

  • Experience with Automation and Deployment (Jenkins) 

  • Automation and scripting via PowerShell, Python, Perl, or Bash 

  • Experience with a wide range of technologies including IIS, Apache, Tomcat, MSSQL, Containers, and CI/CD pipelines. 

  • Strong understanding of cloud and infrastructure components (computer, storage, networking, security, and applications). 

  • Experience with Cloudflare or similar CDN/DNS/security platforms is a plus. 

Pay Range

$140k - $160k Annual

The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
