This is a remote-based position that can be located anywhere in the United States or Canada.

The Business Development Sales Manager orchestrates our organization’s proactive engagements and has the overall responsibility for successfully identifying, qualifying, positioning, selling, negotiating, and closing multi-year complex business relationships with senior client executives, including the CEO, CFO, CTO, Board of Directors, and evaluation committees. This role involves managing customer organizations and overall relationship maps, leading and participating in developing complex solutions, establishing competitive value, and closing
opportunities.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Establish strong working relationships across all levels and all functions within the customer organizations.

  • This is a hunter role requiring astute business acumen and experience initiating and leading sales cycles to generate new business telling the complete Calix story.

  • Ability to leverage resources internally to achieve results.

  • Manage accounts as a business to increase market share and ensure profitability.

  • Provide market input on product development and price strategies.

  • Create and execute sales strategies that apply across the customer’s overall business initiatives and supporting customer organizations (CEO, CxO, Product/Strategy, Procurement, Marketing, Planning, Engineering, and Network Operations).

  • Articulate the Calix value proposition to customer decision-makers, clearly conveying the short and long-term business and financial value of a relationship with Calix.

  • Coordinate and orchestrate the holistic Calix team (including executives, solutions engineers, specialists, product, and marketing teams) to ensure success

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have 7+ years’ experience working with broadband service providers specifically Tier 1 and 2 cable operators selling platform solutions to C-Levels.

  • Experience selling in a matrix environment requiring the understanding of colleagues’ goals and enabling success through the orchestration of the team in an inclusive and optimized manner.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

  • Strategic and business development mindset, evidenced by the ability to deeply understand the client business and prime objectives, and align those with Calix's core capabilities

Compensation will vary based on geographical location (see below) within the United States. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's location of residence and multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, and education.

San Francisco Bay Area Only:

246,000.00 - 369,000.00 USD Annual

National Major Cities plus, CA, CO, NY Metro area:

214,000.00 - 321,000.00 USD Annual

Regional plus NY:

193,000.00 - 290,000.00 USD Annual
